If the influence isn't clear, I've been listening to a lot of Drum & Bass and chiptune lately :P I had a ton of fun making the synths for this, it's my first time playing around with a lot of the gameboy/NES soundchip emulator plugins. Most of the sounds were created using those plugins, with the exception of the snare sample that comes in later and one of the kicks. Would like to do a lot more with the "drop" and during the main riff, as well as make it generally a lot longer.

Also, thanks to "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past" for the inspiration for what basically became the made synth.

Coming to the end of my (rather long) undergraduate career, so as it winds down I've been feeling a weird mixture of relief, nostalgia, excitement, etc.. Theme draws inspiration loosely from some of LOST's themes (hence the picture). Also, I took the opportunity to play around with creation of "chiptune-ish" synth-sounds.

What I consider to be the "main theme" of a game I made for Ludum Dare 29: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-29/?action=preview&uid=14538

The sounds you hear were created using a VST called "PooBoy2" that emulates the original Gameboy's sound hardware. The game itself was created within a 72 hour timespan, and the music was created in about an hour.

LD29 - Beneath the Surface - Main Theme

This is the level music for a game I created in 72 hours during Ludum Dare 29 : http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-29/?action=preview&uid=14538

In contrast to the "main theme" of the game, this one consisted more of just ambient sounds--a couple of repeated tones--that slowly and slightly change over time to keep it a little interesting. I tried to keep out of the way of the in-game sounds. It was created in about an hour, as I was running short on time.
