here is the recording of my first Fusion set at this years's edition in 2023 on Wednesday night @Sonnendeck.. 

I'm over the moon for the opportunity to perform at this amazing stage - THANK YOU @3000-grad for making it happen.

Special thanks to everyone, who supported me in the process of preparing for it, especially to @sahrabass and @reyneke, who not only helped me to find the right vibe for the set, but also helped me with getting the recording ready and mastered for the upload. 

I feel incredibly lucky that so many of my friends supported me with their new productions and sometimes even altered them according to my ideas, especially @theo-meier, @reyneke, @ueberhaupt_ausserdem, @kauzaudio, @cedricscheibel, @magicianonduty, @kon-faber, @jan_sml, @deepandi, @planetcaravanofficial, @herrhausentreindl, @darioklein and @friendsofhannes.

Raketenstart @Sonnendeck - Fusion Festival 2023

Here it finally comes: My Extravaganza-Set from this year's Fusion-edition 2024. Little more to say about this, but some big words of appreciation and that this ride has been a huge honor to be your guest, dear @moynfestival - /@Ketoga -Crew! To have performed at your stage, one of the true beauties of this unique production, was the least expected surprise of this year so far & it has certainly been one of the highlights in my treasure of experiences as an artist. 1000 times THANKs to YOU & your elves! 

I am super grateful for this opportunity & the support I have received from my friends & favourite producers in the process and on stage. First & foremost, this goes out to my one & only @lisa_luka, my companion & friend from zero hour. Prosecco, Ramazotti & ein Aperol... auf der Extravaganza - Fusion Festival 2024

It's taken us a little while to fully process what happened on Sunday but now we've had the time to recover from the madness that is Fusion Festival (you too, we hope??) we're realising just how much this gig meant to us and how happy we are with how it all went. Thank you to everyone who was there, who waited the extra 40 minutes while we battled with some technical difficulties, who cheered, sang our lyrics (wait, what?!) and danced with us. You were so supportive and after the first couple of songs the nervousness was almost gone and we could just enjoy sharing what we love together with you all. THANK YOU! You peeps are just great. <3

So, without further ado, here's our live set on the Velvet Soup stage at Fusion on Sunday night. Unfortunately the quality of the recording isn't great (where's the bass?!?), and we actually had to re-record a couple of parts at home due to an issue with the accordion microphone picking up the sound coming from the speakers, but we tried our best to play it exactly like we did on the night and blend it in smoothly with the original recording.  We are proud and happy and we hope you like it!

2nd Fusion mission successfully completed. 🚀

On Thursday we played what was hands down the most important set of our year: 8–10 PM on the Extravaganza stage at Fusion Festival, hosted by the amazing Moyn crew.

From the very first track, Nianova’s vocals soared over a sea of smiling faces, and the floor filled up until there was hardly space to breathe. Even when the skies opened up and poured down on all of us, you refused to stop dancing. That moment—when we dropped an Edit of Natascha Bedingfield’s Unwritten and everyone screamed "feel the rain on your skin" while actually feeling it—will stay with us forever.

Huge love to the Moyn team for trusting us with this slot and for all the warmth, to our Bizzarro Ultras for making every moment unforgettable, and to the whole Fusion universe for reminding us why we do this.

Honestly, just typing this brings tears to our eyes again. ❤️

Tropical Thunderstorm with heavy rain on jungle canopy

Here is a very close lightning strike I recorded this afternoon, July 20, 2012. A very powerful storm front moved in with thunder, strong winds and heavy rain. Just after the wind calmed down this lightning strike happened. Not even a half second between the flash of light and the sound. Recorded at 24-bit 96K with a Sennheiser MKH-8400ST in XY. The Rycote was soaked from the blowing rain even though it was under shelter from my roof. I live for this kind of stuff! Enjoy! -Frank

"Playing at Mayan Warrior was such a huge honor for us - we still can’t quite believe that this was the first set we ever played at Burning Man! To see the impressive, multi-media art car with all its lights and glory waiting for us was intimidating, to say the least. 
When we arrived to play our set, it started moving into the Deep Playa, with us and our little group of friends following behind it on our bikes. The art car moved slowly, playing its ritualistic music and summoning its followers from the darkness as it set off into the desert. We were at the front of the procession, and every time we looked back, the sea of lights & bikes got bigger and bigger while our hearts started beating faster and faster. People on bikes started appearing one by one from all corners of the Playa, following the fire and lasers until the art car finally stopped and we climbed on top.
We will never forget what it felt like to play our music there….ours was the first set of the night, and we tried to capture the Warrior feeling in our own musical language. The tracks we played reflect the powerful vibe we felt looking down onto the crowd, with the bass booming underneath our feet and the lasers and flames lighting up all around us. Some of them are dark, some of them melancholic - and all of them are close to our hearts. 
We are so grateful to have been invited to share our music on top of the mighty Mayan Warrior, so to Pablo and everyone else who made it happen: thank you so much <3"
