For the imprints 40th release, LNDKHN look once again to Argentinian duo Kermesse, offering up a stellar selection of original works that come packaged alongside a trio of remixes from the likes of Alejandro Mosso, Frivolous and label head Landikhan.

The title track ’Space & Time’ leads the way, easing you in with a shuffling downtempo groove, enchanting vocals and repetitive melodic patterns. Frivolous’ take follows, adding an extra bit of punch to the bass line and tighter percussive elements, combing to create the first of the premium reworks.

Landikhan strips it back even further, focussing on chugging hi hats and warped synth pads that dance from left to right within your mind.

Kermesse welcome Arkadyan for ‘Hologram’ - a track that showcases the versatility of all involved. Acoustic licks carry you throughout, fading away momentarily for the presence of reverb saturated horns, sitting ever so delicately above the groove ridden foundations.

Closing the show is Alejandro Mosso who remixes ‘Hologram’ into a truly mesmerising journey, progressing effortlessly throughout as he welcomes gritty synth chords, eerie top line elements and a vast selection of worldwide percussive sounds.

Kermesse - Space & Time (Frivolous Remix)

The Magic Movement imprint delivers ‘Mind At Large’ this July, a compilation compiled by label founder Noema and featuring the likes of Acid Pauli, Geju, Landikhan and more.

The Magic Movement : ‘’In 1954, Aldous Huxley introduced the concept of „Mind at Large“ to help interpret psychedelic experiences. According to this concept, the human mind filters reality under normal circumstances while psychedelic drugs remove the filter, exposing the user to a Mind at Large.

In our new release, label boss Noema selected 15 tracks to help you open these doors of perception. Furthermore, this compilation showcases the rich musical spectrum of The Magic Movement, from ethnic Downbeat and midtempo Indie Dance to uptempo House Music, always with a psychedelic touch and a lot of love for the detail. The compilation is structured like a DJ set by Noema. It starts hypnotic and slow, then continuously increases the tempo until it reaches ecstatic upbeat domains: Our journey begins with uplifting and funky Downbeat by KÖNI in an edit by Noema, El Remolon, Bliz Nochi, Geju and a dubby 80’s disco bonanza by The Oddness.
After a side trip to South America and Spain, featuring future-RnB rhythms by Landikhan with Dat Garcia and the driving electronic cumbia dancefloor bomb by Nat Barrera in a Noema edit, we catch our breath during some more minimal and hypnotic tracks by Y.Loh, Acid Pauli and Kermesse in a Xique-Xique remix.

Now in the mid-tempo range, we explore a playful and super groovy jam by Sabda, as well as a shiny track by Kermesse and the marching drums of Noema & Dandara. In the last section, we go upbeat with Future-Jazz-House by Wilde See until we take off to the grand finale, a superb House Music sunset anthem by Serpoosh & Noema. And as Huxley points out, “The man who comes back through the Door in the Wall will never be quite the same as the man who went out. He will be wiser but less sure, happier but less self-satisfied, humbler in acknowledging his ignorance yet better equipped to understand the relationship of words to things, of systematic reasoning to the unfathomable mystery which it tries, forever vainly, to comprehend”

Kermesse have been a regular feature of The Magic Movement after dropping their debut album on the label in 2018. The Limbo EP is the duo’s sixth release on the imprint. They have also featured their spellbinding style of stripped-back organic house on other highly respected record labels such as Sol Selectas, Bar 25 Music, Stil Vor Talent and LNDKHN.

“On The Road” is just as groovy, with a rippling modulating bassline featuring acid undertones and a deep melody washed in reverb to give it a dreamscape atmosphere.

“Limbo” opens with a plodding bassline and crisp percussion sequenced into shuffling rhythms which form the foundation for the track's trippy vocals and intricate melody.

“Melting” creates a bewitching feeling, psychedelic lyrics and a gleeful melody fill the track with heart-warming energy. Arguably saving the best until last, this is a standout track that will move mind, body and soul.

“Wawanko” is an upbeat and jovial track with lots of atmospheric textures and an uplifting melody that fills the track with feel-good vibes, while the percussion provides a dance floor focused groove.

DJs are a nomadic people. Drifting between venues, airports and hotel rooms, they're always on the hunt for new music and clubbing activity. They are, indeed, the Bohemians of the 21st Century. Or as Britta Arnold, unders and Noraj Cue would call them: Happy Campers. 

The sophomore release for their brand new imprint Happy Camper Records comes from Bar25 legend, KaterBlau resident and Berlin mainstay Jake The Rapper. The American-born singer/dj/producer has been in Germany long enough now to understand the art of making an Ohrwurm. 'Time To Waste' is one of those tunes that keeps resonating inside your head long after you've heard it. With its thumping beat, catchy vocals and roaring synthline, it's bound to set any dancefloor ablaze. 

Although many believe 'Time To Waste' is a love song, Jake actually wrote it for his friends: "I was at Kater one morning, getting tired of the cyclicality of raving, thinking I really ought to go home and kiss my wife, take care of my kids, get some sleep, get my life together and get some music done. Some friends wanted me to stay and keep dancing. I was like: 'If I had any time to waste, I'd waste it with you. But I don't so… Bye!'" 

As is custom in the Happy Camper family, a string of befriended producers have given their own interpretations to the original. In dOP's remix, a mesmerizing synth that sounds a lot like a harmonica almost gives it a chanson feel, were it not for its relentless bassline and acid bleeps. Skilfully fucking up the vocals beyond recognition, Iories takes a more slow-burning and epic approach with his Dystopian Sundown mix. And Signal Flow & Pattern Drama aim for that end of the night magic with an epic stomper of a remix. Dancefloor detonation guaranteed.

Born in the wilderness of rural Canada, Daniel Gardner spent his formative years in relative isolation, serenaded by the supernatural sounds of the environment in which he inhabited. Not content with his traditional schooling, he spent wintery nights tuned into a distant university radio station, recording weird and wonderful electronic music onto a cassette tape which hung from the ceiling to study musical structures. It wasn't long before he began sampling his habitat and creating sonic landscapes of his own, as surreal and serene as his surroundings.
