Fabric of Minutes

My first Naviar Haiku challenge (https://www.naviarrecords.com/about/naviar-haiku/). Based on this haiku by Ichihara Tayo-Jo (1776 – 1865)

The beginning of all art:
a song when planting a rice field
in the country’s inmost part.

It's surprising where inspiration takes you! This led me towards considering the growth and development of electroacoustic music since its seeds were planted in the middle of the last century. The piece is improbably based on an upbeat version of the old hymn that starts "We plough the fields and scatter...".

Rocky has a brain like a house of stone

Dusty is a demon dressed in spiderweb grey
Blazing like a comet, she makes you want to pray
But she flickers out at the break of day
