For this episode of the series we have a special, as the guest slot features a live recording of Marsman's set from the recent FERMA x Pinkman Label Night that took place on May 31st in Six Dogs Athens. First hour by resident Romphea.

At the helm of his beloved label, Marsman preaches the ‘Pinkman sound’ to congregations of devoted followers. Holding court for over ten years now, he released more than 100 records and hosted countless club nights all over the world.

With over 15 years behind the decks, and the breathless release schedule he orchestrates for Pinkman and its subsidiary labels - Mindri, Broken Dreams & Charlois - Marsman has become a central figure in a close-knit scene of rough-around-the-edges DIY dance music.
Marsman’s DJing can ride through uplifting synths and thunderous drum patterns that are equally suited to dark, sweat-drenched basements and cavernous industrial warehouses. But dig beneath the dirt and there’s brightness to be found, with a glossy Italo sheen never far from Marsman’s selections.

Keeping clubrooms locked into groove for hours on end by meticulously building atmospheres of unease, he can pierce the tension whenever he feels the time is right with moments of hands-in-the-air euphoria. Combining euphoric disco and wave with darker, harder sounds is a trademark move from one of Rotterdam’s finest exports.

And he’s done it at all the best spots the Netherlands has to offer, with appearances at Dekmantel, Garage Noord, Pip, Drift Festival and Intergalactic FM. Further afield, he played at renowned international clubs like Panorama Bar, Tresor, Khidi and FOLD.

Beyond all this, he’s a founding member of cherished radio station Operator, and previously ran the sorely missed Pinkman record store in the heart of Rotterdam’s creative Schieblock, giving Marsman a well-deserved cult hero status for independent music in the harbour city and far, far beyond.

Frankfurt based DJ, producer, curator and event manager Shia LaBiff, known amongst his peers as Michèl Dion Baltin, has a huge repertoire of music and influences which he is constantly sharing for more than 20 years. Starting in early age with Indie, Post Punk and New Wave he soon discovered the joy of electronic club music and started following the path of New Order, Primal Scream and Andrew Weatherall into a new beat driven world. You will hear shades of Italo and Electronic Body Music, New Beat, Acid House, Techno and New/Cold/Synthwave in his mixtapes or DJ sets. His event and guest mix series Blank Wave is providing artists like Perel, Facets, Andi (Synthicide), Sharlese, Shubostar, Que Sakamoto, Rotciv, Radondo, Aural Trace, Moderna and Skelesys – just to name a few. He always tries to combine old heroes and newcomers in his mixes. Artists who have been with him for decades, like Einstürzende Neubauten or Xmal Deutschland, are featured alongside friends whose work he truly appreciates, such as Facets or Zee Mon. His sets span a range of genres, from Belgian New Beat to Acid House with a Goth touch, and include old-school electro reminiscent of The Hague and Canadian EBM. The vibe is always dark and international.

Her penchant for vinyl records, which she has been collecting since youth, was at some point the deciding factor for her to start DJing. Like a disco ball, Zacab’s facets illuminate the darkest corners of clubs, raves, and the faces of the night. 

As a member of Le Salon Record Store, he wears many hats and collects records.

Creator of the radio show “Swiss Underground Bastringues” on Loose Antenna (Lausanne’s web radio) and resident on Trnstn Radio, Zacab covers the history of electronic music and Swiss underground culture. He also curates musical and scenographic projects, including the project “Body Dance Synth Music”.

His musical universe is rooted in the revolutionary synth sounds of the 80s, blending contemporary tracks and styles. Navigating through new wave, italo disco, synthpop, EBM, and electro, his DJ sets create a retro-futuristic experience that he describes as “body dance synth music.

Prolific duo Years of Denial return to Veyl with another genre bending, dance floor ready EP titled Love Cuts.

Acting as a transit between 2023’s Suicide Disco 2 and the forthcoming Suicide Disco 3, Love Cuts explores the various angles of love - ranging from the digital to the forbidden, toxic to erotic and beyond. A blend of death rock, future goth, EBM and rave, we once again find the project’s poetic, powerful lyrics fusing with motorized beats and 4x4 rhythms.

Kicking things off is the shadowy, death rock inspired, "Devil in a Skirt", an infectious ballad about a temptress that may not be what she seems. Next up, "Affaire de Coeur" delivers body fuelled stabs which elegantly bleeds into "Hide & Sick", a more high energy cut, set to scorch the floor. "We Are The Party" keeps the pulse pounding with your next EBM anthem while "In Your Bed" shatters sonic boundaries and leaves things drenched in acid rave. "AI Lover" closes things out with more future goth rave energy which acts as both a warning and a desire for more.

Love Cuts builds on Years of Denial’s previous work while setting the stage for what’s to come. Commanding vocals and dominating beats transmit a powerful message of both the dystopian and euphoric. Remaining uncategorizable, the project continues to evolve their unique sound while burning a path toward the future.
