Not much more than a year has passed since the Zenker Brothers presented their debut EP – ‘Lion in Mars’ – on Tresor Records.

The follow-up record segues perfectly between a triumphant year in the studio and in performance, and a 2014 which promises to take their growing reputation for blazing techno to new heights. ‘Stratus Phunk’ is an incendiary record, developing the ideas seeded in their first release to their fullest extent.

The title track runs along the entire A-side. Building the raw acoustic sounds of wind instruments into a rolling jam which soon becomes an unstoppable locomotive, shapeshifting in and out of smoky synth lines, tracky hi-hats and acetic basslines, « Stratusphunk » is a vintage tune forged in the Tresor basement furnace.

On the flip, « Thirty-Who » and « Vamp Like » explore the more splintered dimensions of the Münich based brothers’ work, familiar to whoever follows the releases on their own Ilian Tape label.

B2. Zenker Brothers - Vamp Like

Fifteen years have passed since the release of the first and only ‘Demo Tracks’ compilation to date on Tresor Records. For this new commencement, we are proud to present three exceptional upcoming producers, selected amongst the various different paperboard envellopes and electronic communications received daily, here in the vault.

Acronym has been slowly and mysteriously instructing his sound over the last three years through his own Dimensional Exploration imprint out of Stockholm. With ‘Nabu’ he presents a dimension of his work so far only known to those who had the chance to hear him perform live.

Hailing from the northern Spanish surroundings of Bilbao, J.C. is a young producer whose work has surfaced on labels like Deeply Rooted or Greener. He also runs an eponymous record series and offers here a shaking number ‘CheNox’, keeping his ears riveted on the Berlin sound.

Last but far from least, Zadig is a producer who has been regularly catching our attention. Growing figure of the French and Parisian scene, his polished sound possesses many different facets. With ‘Panic’, Zadig looks back to some of the crudest moments of the Tresor catalog.

The "Origin EP" is @MarcFaenger debut release on MINUS and consists of six tracks, which represent the broad spectrum of his musical influences.

The repetitive and forward-pulling opener "Origin", the twisted techhouse-journey of "Bamboe", the sophisticated evolving "Moanee" with its energy burst after the break, the straight techno joint "Kalmar" with its pulsating bass, the stripped down and trippy "Madras" and the chord-driven electronic atmosphere of "Dust".

MINUSmin20 : Marc Faenger - Origin (Original Mix)

The third track on the Black Moon EP is for all those who have learned to appreciate BLACK ASTEROID´s flawless blend of uncompromising Techno. “Freeze” is another milestone production, a manifestation of the outstanding skills of this experienced sound designer who started his career as the engineer of Prince and who later formed the critically acclaimed duo MOTOR. The final mix-downs were done together with Chris Liebing at his state of the art studio in Frankfurt, guaranteeing the same sonic brilliance we are used to from all recent CLR releases.

The first track of the EP "Anubis" is clearly oriented to the dance floor, with its recurring techno rhythm and melody.
Accompanied throughout by African percussion and a lead which gives its Egyptian side to the track.

The Second track "The Hiding Of The Beast" is a really special piece, dark atmosphere and offbeat rhythm gives a trashy side but softened by the emergence of synth.
The bass line is constantly evolving to become increasingly more powerful.

The third track "Smoking Shoes" is more oriented tech house.
The bass on several tones gives a joyful and dancing side.
While the synths will reveal a darker feeling.

The fourth track "Can You Feel The Darkness"close this EP in beauty.
Dark atmosphere , techno rhythm, acidulous synth and powerful bass.

Carlo Ruetz makes his debut on Oliver Huntemann's Senso Sounds with The Trick EP - further evidence of his increasing mastery of tough, thrilling Techno. The Rostock born DJ and producer found a wider audience in 2013 after receiving support from Richie Hawtin and subsequently releasing on MINUS - and here he flexes his production muscles once again.
'Trick' is an acidic tinged banger - a ferocious dancefloor workout for prime time whatever the location. 'Artefact' is another example of Ruetz’s control over dynamics - the track containing
several moments of high intensity that raises the temperature, yet maintaining a spacey, minimal vibe. 'Divided Universe' is another hard-hitter - a driving rhythm accompanied by laser-like melodic
flourishes and menacing atmospheres. 'Resoflash' keeps up the releases’ tough and funky vibe - a killer rolling bassline and firing percussion deliver the heat.

Celebrating the labels landmark 100th release, Uto Karem has compiled a special 14 track LP with hand-selected new tracks from Cristian Varela, Loco & Jam, Filterheadz, Mladen Tomic, and Anderson Noise plus many others including himself. Along with releasing tracks by established veterans such as UMEK, Rino Cerrone, Ramiro Lopez, The Advent and Ramon Tapia, the label has on many occasions featured fresh new talent, and its vibrant history includes giving early releases to the likes of Joseph Capriati, Paride Saraceni and Rafa Barrios when they were still relatively unknown. This release showcases the Agile Recordings sound and some of the artists that have been instrumental in the label's development since the first EP in 2008.
