Dancefloor heroes Oliver follow up their finely tuned Mechanical EP with a surprising new remix collection that casts their already-diverse originals in a stunning new light. Kicking off with a stomping, fan favorite mix of "Night Is On My Mind" by festival king Dillon Francis, Mechanical Remixes kicks into even higher gear with Nom De Strip's big room take on "Control," before pulling a moody left turn with Tchami's housey (dare we say jazzy!) version of "MYB," and closing out strong with a high-NRG remix of "Mechanical" by new young producer Values. Machine music never sounded so good!

Oliver - MYB [Tchami Remix]

A heavy, heavy remix package here from Hypercolour.  Step forward Bonobo, Kowton and Dark Sky, who all contribute stellar remixes of Maya Jane Coles’ “Don’t Put Me In Your Box” EP, originally out in 2011.

Bonobo seals a huge period of activity, including a rack of acclaimed albums for Ninja Tune, with an ethereal and sublime take on “Something In The Air”.  The remix cinematically sweeps over you, its rising melodies and tight percussions making this a standout job from Bonobo.

Bristol’s Joe Cowton AKA Kowton plucks for “Parallel Worlds” from Maya’s EP to get the once over, opting for a dancefloor-centric re-work.  Stripping things right back with big, distorted drums and strobe like percs, the Idle Hands and Livity Sound man affords us with a real sweat soaked warehouse banger of a remix. 

Wrapping up this remix package is the Dark Sky remix of  “Something In The Air”.  Whereas Bonobo took the Original to more heady territories, Dark Sky’s mix is underpinned with a rattling 4/4 groove and big subby sweeps, retaining the original’s melodic touches.  Dark Sky have been firing on all cylinders of late, releases on Tectonic and 50 Weapons, collaborations with Breach…and this remix further solidifies their credentials as a team to watch out for.

Carlo Ruetz makes his debut on Oliver Huntemann's Senso Sounds with The Trick EP - further evidence of his increasing mastery of tough, thrilling Techno. The Rostock born DJ and producer found a wider audience in 2013 after receiving support from Richie Hawtin and subsequently releasing on MINUS - and here he flexes his production muscles once again.
'Trick' is an acidic tinged banger - a ferocious dancefloor workout for prime time whatever the location. 'Artefact' is another example of Ruetz’s control over dynamics - the track containing
several moments of high intensity that raises the temperature, yet maintaining a spacey, minimal vibe. 'Divided Universe' is another hard-hitter - a driving rhythm accompanied by laser-like melodic
flourishes and menacing atmospheres. 'Resoflash' keeps up the releases’ tough and funky vibe - a killer rolling bassline and firing percussion deliver the heat.

After recently making his debut on Pan-Pot’s Second State, Amsterdam based producer Tahko makes his way onto Secret Cinema’s Gem Records imprint. His double A-sided EP for the Dutch label is one of the must-hear techno releases of the month. 

Tahko is exploding onto the international techno scene with gigs at Tresor, Tomorrowland and Welcome To The Future Festival. His productions are on-point which is catching the ear of A&R’s and paving his way to becoming a top producer. 

With Gem Records set to release EPs by Oliver Lieb and Secret Cinema over the next few months, these are heady times for a label that continues to be rewarded for its consistent and innovative approach to contemporary electronic music.
