Death Raw marks the first release of 2020 for Birmingham-based label Fly By Night Recordings, with a heavy-hitting breaks and electro 4-track EP from French artist A-Sim, featuring a collaboration with Evenn and a remix from UK Bass artist Pluralist. With releases on R&S Records and RAWAX, A-Sim is an emerging artist to watch, heavily influenced by the sound of UK Bass and breakbeat. Death Raw brings a sign of darker things to come from Fly By Night, yet still focusing on the club-based sounds the label revolves around.

Sheffield breakbeat champions & Club Glow collective members Denham Audio make an appearance on Lobster Theremin with Transcendence.

Club Culture is a heady tribute to UK rave culture, combining classic breaks with a monologue from generations past. Denham Audio speed things up on Retort, fusing their love of breakbeats with a sound palette ubiquitous with acid house. On the flip, patois bars punctuate the bleeps-and-breaks of Run Da Ting, while the vocal layered between Top Boy’s whirling bass and digitally distorted drum programming may be recognisable to some. Closing track Transcendence is an ethereal jungle roller with guest vocals from 7ip7o3, that rings true to its name.

‘Transcendence’ drops Friday 12th March, via Lobster Theremin.

This is Sticky 004: Asquith/Tañ - Two amazing DJs sharing both sides of the cassette. They have both chosen the full proceeds of this tape to go to Magic Breakfast, here is what they do in their own words: "We are a registered Charity Aiming to end hunger as a Barrier to Education in UK schools through the provision of healthy breakfasts to children living with food poverty"

Leeds based DJ and co-founder of Spin City, Tañ takes the reigns for Side-B of Sticky 004. She provides more club-ready business, ranging from four to the floor acid house to cheeky dancefloor edits of RnB classics.
