This is a ballad-style song that tells of the tragedy of one frontier woman's life; Mona Belle was her name. She was newly married, and her husband went out to hunt. Only to be injured by the Apaches. He crawled to the front door, and his wife shot into the dark; thinking it was the Apaches since her husband didn't knock per the pact they made. She is legendary on Lake Phantom , TX. There have been countless sightings of a woman in her wedding dress roaming the lake side. She lives on in perpetual unrest.
