"Jerks" is based on a poem about a nuclear sized fall out with a friend from years ago which has never recovered. As time passed though, I often searched for and found parts of the things I hated within myself

Kamikaze is a song about falling off the wagon when you're depressed; about the times I've gone out to have a crazy time just to cover how I'm feeling (which often means it goes wwaaayyy over the top)

I had a lot of trouble producing this track, since the melody and lyrics are quite complicated it was hard to fit a standard arrangement around. In the end, deleting most of he drum kit was the only thing that worked

2014 has been a bit of a tough year, though I've been trying to avoid my songwriting turning into a mush of self-pity and crotchety reflection. Sometimes, there's no way to help yourself though. I was obsessed with this song for weeks and just couldn't write anything else until it had been finished

Magic is a very nostalgic song for me, about feeling confused and disconnected and looking back on simpler times. The arrangement is much straighter and simpler then usual as well, somewhat in homage to that emotion and nostalgia
