What's shakin' funky people?!?  We are back with Volume 214 of the series and we are thrilled to welcome fellow Vancouverite, DJ Bradley Be to Soul Room Sessions!

Bradley’s interest in music started at the age of 5 when he bought my first record, but it wasn’t until he was 9 that his passion for music truly began. At the age of 12, he organized a hip hop party at a local youth center where he first started DJing. He promoted the party for six months and built up a following of around 50 people. However, as hardcore music became more popular, he decided to try his hand at it. Although he found mixing hardcore music difficult, he was fortunate to be introduced to house and garage music, which ended up being his forte.
This led to an opportunity to play at a local nightclub called Rackets (Essex), where he warmed up for DJ Disciple. Following this gig, a promoter offered him a residency at the Playground (Essex), where he warmed up for various top DJs, including Danny Bhudda Morales, Normski, Bobbi and Steve, and Boy George, among others.
During his time as a house and garage DJ, he met Graham Gold, whom he considers to be one of the best DJs in the industry. After a short time, they became good friends, and through their friendship, Bradley had the opportunity to travel around England with him. On more than one occasion, he him play live sets at Kiss FM Studio, which led to introductions to all the top DJs, such as Judge Jules, Paul Trouble Anderson, and the Kiss FM crew. With all the experience he gained from these encounters, Bradley was able to learn a lot from the people he met.
From that point on, his DJ career took off, and he began playing at various venues across England, Europe, and the world.

We'd love to introduce Ben Russel. 
Ben was born and raised in the South East of England and got his first set of turntables at 14. Starting off playing trance and progressive house it wasn’t until a 6hr masterclass from Derrick Carter at Tribal Gathering that he learnt about the groove. After that you could find him in numerous London clubs like Fabric or The End drawing influence from DJs like Sneak, Heather, Iz & Diz, Terry Francis, Luke Solomon, Jesse Rose and Craig Richards to name a few. His sound is something of the old school Jack. Joey Youngman, Jason Hodges and Inland Knights are prominent in his sets. If it’s funky, if it bumps he’ll play it. 

Ben is currently promoting and resident for his night House Is Where The Heart Is along side his best friend Andy. The night was started last year and is growing quickly. For the May bank holiday they’ve booked the Inland Knights, heroes in their eyes.
