Fresh Paint, born Kevin Armstead Blackwell on April 24, 1986 is a West Baltimore, Maryland native. Growing up near the famous 4600 block of Liberty Heights Avenue Fresh was surrounded by crime and negativity on an constant basis which would later become the primary source for the inspiration and creativity behind his music. While attending high school at Baltimore Polytechinic Institute Fresh took an early interest in writing poetry, which coupled with his gifted freestyling ability aquired from years of neighborhood cyphers, would soon blossom into an affinity for songwriting. By late 2008 Fresh had already written and recorded over a hundred songs that both accurately portrayed his story and uniquely identified various issues young men and women face growing up in urban environments. Becoming known for his witty word play and his uniquely humble yet confident tone Fresh began work on his first major project in 2009. Entitled "The Greyspace" this work was the first E.P. Fresh released, via Itunes. The E.P. was then followed by two inspiring mixtapes available for download "Too Busy Being Awesome" and "In Route." Fresh's most recent single "Pretty World," prod. by Peripheral Audio producer A.J. "Beanz' Harris, was released Spring 2014 and is slated to be included on his next, untitled, project due to be released Summer 2014.
