Lexx has a worked in record shops for close to twenty years, produced records since the late 90’s and played in clubs on a regular basis. He run’s his own label and is a passionate music enthusiast to this very day. Lexx Bon Voyage

In July 2010, I got an invitation to play at a small but neat festival named Folk Ibiza. It was my first visit to the island. I got to spin at a bunch of different locations, such as the Hostal Boutique Salinas, Sunset Ashram, and on the terrace at Space. I returned in September of the following year to play a set on Andy Wilson's show on Ibiza Sonica and a second time at the Hostal. I have not been back to Ibiza since. I recently came across this picture (taken at Cala Compte next to Sunset Ashram), which inspired me to make this mix. I tried to sonically capture the vibe that I felt back then. It includes some bona fide classics such as Ashra "Oasis“, Santana "Aqua Marine," and Jah Wobble & Holger Czukay "Hold On To Your Dreams," as well as tunes by Smith & Mudd, Begin, Quiet Village and more. A protegé of Lexx and Alex Dallas from Club Zukunft and Drumpoet Community, Kejeblos belongs to that invincible circle of friends, whose members CCO, Wavetest and Late Invitation are doing the wickedest Chicago House in Liechtenstein, sorry, Switzerland.

And now, a little bit of JAZ

John Zahl, also known as JAZ, is a DJ and record collector based in New York, USA, well-known for his eccentric edits and oddball mixes. We managed to connect with John after he'd arrived back in NYC after a few months spent travelling.

His mix, which was actually recorded nine years ago for Sanpo Disco on NTS Radio, features many of his all-time favourite records. He tells us these are songs that he still loves, and which remain in constant rotation. We'd like to mention a few of the tracks, starting with the lovely slo-mo/Italo disco record 'Non Ricordo, Ma Piangendo', B-side of a rare 7" by Giancarlo Aspromonte. Pit Troja's 'Der Voodoo Mann' from 1985 can only be described as German hip-hop over a Moroder-esque bass-line, wonderfully eccentric, as advertised! The late great Björn Holm's 'Tid At Stå Stilla' from his 1984 LP Bortom Gränsernas Hav, takes us into Swedish synth-pop territory. The mix features a few of JAZ's own edits, including 'Cloud Worship' which has to be one of our favourite edits of all time, just superb. This is an exceptionally well put-together mix, and despite the wide range of material, it flows perfectly and naturally, as a good eclectic mix should do.
