Herrera (Occasionally Abraham - Occasionally Baberaham) is a special alumnus of the 'Waxflower College of Good Times' in more ways than one. The only human on the planet to have officially cooked in the Waxflower kitchen, hosted customers in the front, and stirred hot wax on the DJ pans.

This mix hears Herrera unpacking heat from deep underground - Much like the volcanoes of his home place, more west than the Western Sahara, the Canary Islands. Some might call that exotic, never quixotic, a Balearic blend of upper atmosphere downtempo electronic.

Que pasa chico? Nada.

In July 2010, I got an invitation to play at a small but neat festival named Folk Ibiza. It was my first visit to the island. I got to spin at a bunch of different locations, such as the Hostal Boutique Salinas, Sunset Ashram, and on the terrace at Space. I returned in September of the following year to play a set on Andy Wilson's show on Ibiza Sonica and a second time at the Hostal. I have not been back to Ibiza since. I recently came across this picture (taken at Cala Compte next to Sunset Ashram), which inspired me to make this mix. I tried to sonically capture the vibe that I felt back then. It includes some bona fide classics such as Ashra "Oasis“, Santana "Aqua Marine," and Jah Wobble & Holger Czukay "Hold On To Your Dreams," as well as tunes by Smith & Mudd, Begin, Quiet Village and more. What up Idle Cellars fam? We’re back with another stellar new mix for your spring-into-summer fun, so pop a tasty bottle and get horizontal! Once again we’re proud to give you a mix from some of the world’s best selectors and this month showcases another favorite - it’s Brooklyn’s JKriv! We met Jason while he was holding down basslines for incredible acoustic House band Tortured Soul, which he followed swiftly by a stint in NYC disco-obsessed group Escort (amazing!), then linking up with Aaron Dae to create the influential Razor-N-Tape label empire! Since then the man has been living the disco dream, traveling the world playing tunes, making some fantastic music (check out his groovy and soothing Within EP) and opening the RNT record shop in addition to being a wonderful human being. 

He’s hooked us up with a poolside killer that has us dreaming of hot, hazy afternoons treading water, mornings when there’s nothing to do but soak in some rays, & nights of wine & torchlit patios. We hope you enjoy as much as we do!
