We are very happy to introduce you to DISTANT ECHOS. 
 Founded by producer/composer Alex Niggemann (AEON) and Singer/Songwriter Fabian Kuss (YEAH BUT NO), the brand new label will set out to be a bastion of quality, featuring bands & artists from a broad musical church with leanings towards Electronica and Neo Pop.

DISTANT ECHOS kick off their journey with the debut EP from Maltese Duo KNTRL.  The “JUST WORDS“ EP delivers a vibe that delves boldly into the dark edge and mood of the eighties but is tinged with a radio-friendly pop sensibility.


KNTRL: „The process was quite a long one. This EP started in 2019, and all three tracks were planned to be instrumental. At the very early stages, all I knew was that it had to have dark tones with a human feel which is always very important for me. With this EP I also wanted to use my external synths and drum machines as much as possible.
The lyrics came at a later stage and Matthew was the most sensible choice. His experience helped shape the tracks a lot and gave a much-needed pop vibe to the whole sound.“  Alex Niggemann’s danceable 4-to-the-floor remake, which finds its musical inspiration in the worlds of contemporary Italo and Indie Dance vibes, rounds up this fantastic debut EP.

Previously KNTRL’s sound was almost introverted electro-pop mostly listened to by underground ambient//electronic lovers.
Just words EP aims to move past that & appeal to a wider range of audiences ranging from the alternative to Indie-Dance.

We’ve not seen a double A-Side from two artists on our beloved SPEICHER series in some time so we figured it was high time for the return. And what timing as warm weather has finally embraced us which means its time for a full dose of floor filled power for the festivals of 2022.

The duo that are Extrawelt should be no strangers to your ears…since we last heard from them in 2019 when they took over SPEICHER 110, they’ve released with Feel My Bicep, Further Electronix, Watergate, Dream Awake, Traum and of course Cocoon. “Stabilo” is raw and powerful, a synthesis of their analog prowess with a beat that is just unstoppable.

Famously known for the HOSH collaboration “Midnight” (Ministry Of Sound) and fresh off a remix for SPEICHER alumni Anfisa Letyago, we happily feed you a summer bomb to nourish your peak time palate. A provocatively raw bass drum and dirty synth keep “Vulcano” in an eternal eruptive state.

Number twenty on San Francisco’s Manjumasi is the second solo artist EP from label co-founder atish. With the Warbler EP, atish presents a pair of original tracks that showcase strange and unique melodic stylings across two distinct energy levels, both featuring eerie and compelling string sounds with heavy use of creative effects. The title track, Warbler, has a solid late-night dance floor groove with a lush and haunting synth line anchoring the mid-range groove. Abyss takes things deeper, again veering into eerie sonic territories with vocal pads floating throughout the mix. This one sits in a more restrained rhythmic territory, well suited to the mood-setting opening hours.

The package features three top-notch remixes from a collection of very serious producers. Sweden’s Dorisburg turns in an incredibly heady interpretation of Abyss, with sparkling glassy pads juxtaposed against a bouncing synth bassline. Melodic master Rodriguez Jr. takes Warbler in a different direction, weaving the original elements into a tapestry of his signature arpeggios and synth crescendos. Lastly, Fort Romeau turns in an energetic Warbler mix, anchored by a long-building stabby bassline that develops into a real acid-tinged driver.
