For the first time in three years, Markus Schulz is delighted to return to Amsterdam for one of the most important weeks in the dance music calendar - the annual Amsterdam Dance Event. Resuming a popular tradition alongside his open to close solo set at Melkweg, he weaves a special 2 hour mix live and direct from the city; showcasing some of the biggest sounds that have emanated throughout the festivities, and includes the world premiere of his upcoming collaboration from the X series, working alongside KhoMha on Take Me.

It was almost two and a half years in the making, and after all the wishing and support of the Bay Area massive, we got to do another solo set at Ruby Skye in San Francisco. The previous one was actually the night where the second disc of the World Tour 2012 CD was recorded, and the first ever gig where Doors Open was played.

Then there was the night of the Superbowl, which happened to fall on my birthday, where the 49ers didn't quite make the finish line, and I sat in a sports bar in Amsterdam at 5am tweeting that I'd promise to get them a solo set for all the fun interacting with them on Twitter that evening.

Despite all the wishing and urging on my end, it never materialised, but it was so great to come on here on Facebook or Twitter and see that the SF fans, especially the Trancefamily SF crew, would kindly remind me to fulfill my promise. So when I found out a few months ago that the solo would be a reality, I was delighted for them more than anything.

And it exceeded all expectations, including the presentation of Golden Gate, and the emotional euphoria of Destiny. A special night, a special venue and special fans. Thank you San Francisco.

Many thanks to Nandiya Attiya Photography for her wonderful photos. I'm sure the world will get to see them showcased plenty of times again just like last year!
