I haven't done any real mixing/mastering for a while, so I threw this little thing together. It also gave me a chance to do a full mix/master in Logic Pro X, which I haven't been able to recently because of lack of 64bit support with the plugins I use.

So here's a little clip of what I've been working on recently. I'm still on the edge about the song as a whole but I'm hoping that I'll be able to get something up fairly soon. I tried to recapture some of my old playing style with it, fused with some of my current style.

Cloud Spires (Metal Remix)

One of my University projects, but without the vocals and an altered mix. This track originally had vocals mixed in, but for some reason Logic didn't like them after a while, and so it decided to warp the audio files into something they weren't, and made it crash all the time. I hope to get the vocals re recorded at some point this year. 

Checkmate (Instrumental Remix)

You probably knew this was coming, but here is my metal remix of the song E.T by Katy Perry. I originally didn't want to do it because I'd heard one already that I thought was really good, but I thought what the hell, so I recorded this one some of yesterday and most of today. I don't think it turned out too bad.

Another Spyro remix! This is the music from the level "Glimmer", the first level in the second game. Probably the most catchy track in the entire series.

I'm trying to get better with my drum sounds, the kick and the snare especially. The kick was a blend of 3 samples, whilst the snare was 2 samples. The sample I got for the snare was originally recorded onto tape, so I got a nice bit of warmth with it.

Glimmer (Metal Remix)

This is just a short test to show the difference that picking hard makes compared to just lightly picking. I just played a random chug riff in drop B through my Maxon OD9, into my POD X3 then into Logic.

Since a lot of the stuff I usually do is mainly guitar based, I thought I'd try something different for a change. This track is going to be the intro to my Uni EP that I have to write for this year. It is as of yet, untitled.

My first semi electronic song

My friend showed me these stems the other day, so I thought I'd have a go at doing another metal remix. This one was slightly more difficult to do as I had trouble finding the time signature and tempo by just the stems alone.

Hi, my name is Finn and I'm a guitarist from Suffolk, England. I've played guitar for a number of years and have been writing metal music since 2009. I made a YouTube account in 2006 where I first started posting guitar covers of popular metal songs from around the same time (Bullet For My Valentine, Parkway Drive and Trivium) which inspired me to write some of my own material. Since then, I've written 5 singles and am working on a mini EP project called Science Of Sound, which is going to be a bit different to what I've done in the past. In my spare time, I like doing little remix projects, whether they be pop songs to metal or recently I've been doing remixes of game tracks to metal.
