The first episode's guest is Happy707, a project of the young DJs and producers May Mc Laren and Tomas Palmariello from Buenos Aires Argentina. Influenced by the currents of EBM, Acid, Electro, and TechnoTrash, but open to music in general, their productions were released on labels such as Clan Destine Records (UK), New York Haunted (NL), Oraculo Records (ES), Pildoras Tapes (COL) and Discos Pato Carlos (CH).

DAAF004:  Erica Van Berger, a brazilian sound artist who steps outside of current trends in electronic-industrial music with compositions that focus on heavy, nocturnal atmospheres which are primarily driven by downtempo, sub-bass heavy tracks that are laden with a sinister and seductive ambience.
Her music is tastefully marred by martial industrial rhythms that juxtapose
distorted synthesis which injects an acute urgency in her music while remaining beguilingly hypnotic. The electronic pulsation disembody Erica’s signature imperious and abrasive sound design which blurs the lines between electronic music genres and lend narrative ideas to the listener of conflict, turmoil, desire and control.

Dirk Wiertz is a dj & producer from Amsterdam, combining best of both worlds working in Amsterdams finest recordstore Concerto, making music & collecting records.
After hearing Newcleus’ Computer Age as a kid in the late 80’s he was hooked on electro music at a very young age.
Starting out with a Roland MC303 making electro tracks was all he would do, but soon many more drummachines & synthesizers filled his studio.
Now more inspired by the likes of Drexciya, Anthony Rother and many others he started developing his style and started podcasting monthly mixes with his electro faves.
Lately his track “Texel” was released on LBR records in March this year, delivering a blistering electro cut, followed by his debut EP “Grounded” on Cyberdomain records, released on cassette tape, which gained the support of Dark Science Electro, Jonny Moy and Dave Clarke.
“ It lends the hard-driving bass-lines muscular tension and elastic bounce. Combined with kinetic rhythms and drumbreaks, Wiertz delivers an on-point and low-end driven techno full of thrilling surprises.”

Drox is a DJ, live act and producer, based in. Sydney, Australia.

​Drox has honed his sound and formidable production skills for over a decade, both solo and as part of the Analog Cabin collective.
His music can be described as heavily influenced by electro, and indeed electro – past and present and in all its many forms – is one of his primary inspirations. But that is only one part of the picture. Techno, house, dub, ambient, experimental and all manner of deep electronic music are integral to his sound, and it’s not easy to file him under any one genre – nor any one style or mode of production, as he writes and records with both analogue and digital gear.  

Drox’s sound and skill has led to gigs supporting internationals including Mike Huckaby (R.I.P.) and Hieroglyphic Being. He has been featured at festivals and weeklies including Subsonic Music Festival, Alien,TechnoClub.net, Electrofringe, Nightime Drama and Church of Techno. 

Drox has had releases on Southern Outpost/Datadisk, Crobot Muzik, Nightime Drama and his own Analog Cabin label.

"I simply like something that could be likened to the essence or mythology of a genre, which ironically goes against my broader beliefs, because essentialism is something I abhor, but in music as a discipline, it's perhaps innocuous."

Vampire Castle EP by now Prague-based musician Andrej Kabal explores and subverts the framework of a particular genre, its boundaries whether elastic or sturdy. Being constrained by stylistic tropes can be surprisingly liberating, and perhaps ephemeral too, a mirage. The tracks resulted from spontaneous sessions: from experimenting with text-to-speech to strumming on a guitar. Deeply personal, the EP reflects a specific period of his life.

"These tracks came to life in my room while I was living in Petržalka (a concrete-block district in Bratislava), where I could amazingly listen to music until 4am undisturbed, so I was able to delve into production. I can relive this vibe when I listen to the tracks again. The dimly lit room, me smoking at 5am on the balcony, observing the sleepy Petržalka council estate unrolling in front of my eyes."

The mood of the EP is opaque and mellow, like that fleeting time of the day, where dusk is transposed into dawn; slightly menacing (like a John Carpenter soundtrack, one of Kabal's perhaps more obvious inspirations on this release), with spots of light seeping through.
The title "Vampire Castle" was inspired by Mark Fisher's concept and uses samples from his work. “Individualise and privatise everything”, “essentialise”: we are all doomed indeed, but as Fisher wrote “Outside the Vampires’ Castle, anything is possible.”

Born in the Bahamas, 25% French American citizen has been mixing and scratching since 1997. Known for proper electro, he produces tracks, and runs the Kraftjerkz label played by DJs such as I-F, Helena Hauff, Danny Daze, Nina Kraviz, Solvent etc. He has had releases on Lost Soul Enterprises, Basement Floor, Hip Hop Slam, and La La Land. He is also touring turntablist for funk group, Tom Tom Club touring in such places as North America, Japan, UK, and Western Europe. His name has shared the credits with DJ Qbert, Shortkut, and DJ Quest on multiple compilations released by Bay Area label, Hip Hop Slam. He has also collaborated multiple times with Detroit's technobass pioneer, DJ Di'jital. In 1999 he produced an electrofunk megamix cassette distributed by Turntablelab and the famous Fat Beats NYC.
