tough to put it into words but i will try.

this was unforgettable. warming up for Massive Attack was a dream, but doing it with a childhood friend made it surreal.

we’ve been through so much together—initially we were two music-hungry teenagers who found solace and excitement in melodies and beats. we spent countless hours in our rooms, experimented with sounds, lost ourselves in the rhythm, and dreamt of the days we would share our music with the world.

each track here holds a story: the late nights, the laughter, the setbacks, and the triumphs. it’s a journey through our shared history, a testament to our unwavering passion for music.

the energy in the air at parkorman was electric. as always, thank you for the love and the support.

the following set was recorded on an afternoon to remember, as I had the honor of sharing the decks with one of Turkey’s most revered DJs, Yakuza, at the beautiful Xuma Village in Bodrum. known for his deep knowledge of music and ability to blend various genres seamlessly, Yakuza has earned legendary status in the electronic music scene. the serene setting of Xuma Village, with its breathtaking views and ambiance, provided the perfect backdrop for an epic sunset.

the synergy was electric, and the experience was further enhanced by the incredible talents of Toygun Sozen, Tolga Bilgin, and Erturk Idug, who graced us with their stage presence and accompanied us with their wind instruments.

back in 2004, I recorded a back 2 mine set that somehow found its way into so many people’s lives. what started as a late-night experiment became the soundtrack to countless afterhours, long car rides, and those tender moments when the night slowly melts into morning. it is not about hands in the air, but about hearts at rest. 

people told me it became their go-to set whenever they needed to exhale, to reset, to reflect, or simply to drift away in that half-dreaming, half-awake state we all know from those endless nights. it is humbling to think that something mixed in a moment of intimacy and flow resonated for years as a safe place to land after the chaos of the dance floor.

this episode of from the vault is a reminder of how music connects us beyond the club, into living rooms, balconies, beaches, and the quiet corners of our lives.
