Hamza Rahimtula & Loopy Juice - Delhi 2 Paris [Selekta Recordings] [MI4L.com]

The second track of the compilation is produced by none less the well-known Japanese duo producers & Dj: Dazzle Drums aka Nagi & Kei Sugano. Both members started DJing individually in the 90s. Although rooted in soulful house
music, their selection blends a wide variety of tracks of dance and house classics as well as current songs.
Since 2005 they have released many overseas labels such as King Street Sounds, Afrocentric, Tony Records, Nulu Electronic, Tribe Records, BBE Music… and their own imprint, Green Parrot Recording.

For this project, they wanted to re-create their favourite 90's US Deep House in a unique way. In the process, their initial impulse has been to setup a melody (flute/synth) accompanied by a catchy rhythmic.

88 - Double Happiness comprises a mix of well-know artists and emerging talented producers who are showcasing the new sounds of Asia. It sonically explores the electronic musical scene coming all the diversity of Asian countries.

With artists coming from Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, India, South Korea, Singapore & China, ‘88 - Double Happiness’ features artists such as Munir, Dazzle Drums, Thirstkid, Hamza Rahimtula, Rafiki, Bongomann, Go Dam & Luxixi. Each artist brought their own flavour to the compilation with their unique sounds and dance-worthy beats.

Chang and Eng, born in 1811 in Siam (nowadays Thailand), were the first documented conjoined twin brothers. Their fame propelled the expression “Siamese Twins” to become synonymous for conjoined twins in general. Paying homage to this aspect, it is also a record label based in Thailand run by Sunju, Johan, and Taychin from Karma Klique, with Yoshi from 禁 JIN Records. A home for authentic, tribally rooted sounds introducing Asian artists and creating symbiotic dialogues with producers around the globe. Two heads, one path, one pace.
The Debut “Cobra EP” comes from a new production project “Mogambo” a collaborative brainchild of Sunju Hargun and multi-instrumentalist Jerom Doudet. Both located in Thailand and bounded by a shared love of acid electronica, Bollywood movies and big psychedelic gongs.
Delving deep into a highly personal and unique sound cosmos this album covers a wide range of sound textures. Featuring trippy jungle grooves, mesmerizing tribal percussion, countless eccentric effect pedals and hints to 90’s Goa. The EP ranges from spacey Asian soundscapes, sweaty basement afterhours journeys to slow burning hypnotizing grooves slithering as a Cobra.
Our choise is - जीना (Jeena) - A cinematic mesmerizing ambient track. Organic synth lines grow and layer over a Thai vocal slowly dripping in. Gongs stretched into a hazy morning.

Munir (AKA Midnight Runners) is one of Southeast Asia’s most unique talents. A deep record collector, he has put his hometown of Bandung, Indonesia on the map with a relentless output of self-released edits drawing on Indonesian funk, Chinese pop, and Middle Eastern psych as source material over the last several years. Equally skilled as a producer, Munir’s signature boogie-funk sounds have graced labels such as Neon Finger, Shaken Palms, and No Bad Days. We’re pleased to unleash Munir’s sounds on Darker Than Wax once again, with a strong sonic step forward from the artist and perhaps his most polished work yet - ‘Circuit Line’.

In the final curation of 2020 we raise a glass to Takis Shelter with a diverse collection of jams showcasing everything from blissed out jazz, funked up house, rich balearic trips and a little sprinkle of joy inducing disco. These come from a selection of our good friends across the planet who have kindly contributed their tracks to make this release happen, a big thanks to the time and effort that everybody has put into this.

100% of the proceeds from this compilation will go directly to Takis Shelter. As someone who has his roots in the music scene, Takis turned his attention from partying all night whilst running his own nightclub, to well, partying all night with more than 450 of dogs and cats that he saved from landfills and rubbish dumps in Crete. After giving up everything he owned to open his shelter, he nearly had to give up the refuge but donations made it possible for him to go on.

This compilation is a nod to all the incredible, selfless work that Takis has put into caring for these animals and will go towards ensuring they are looked after, fed and can eventually find their way to a new loving home. To find out more and donate directly go to takisshelter.org/
