STEP - THRU (rx:tx records)

French epicurean producer Fulgeance returns this time with an ambient / new age album, dedicated to the sea and the depth of it. From balearic deep-blue water to the grey-green waves of Normandy, tainted by changing skies, stormy weather and the winds of the North.

A 22 track LP originally created as an A/V live performance accompanying Ange Leccia’s video “La Mer'', with the help of Collectif Manoeuvre, Interstice Festival & FRAC Normandie. This live performance will continue into 2023, in contemporary art centres, art schools, galleries & venues.

You can call this sound “new-age” as opposed to ambient, Fulgeance explains: 
“I prefer harmonies, melodies or sounds that emote sensations rather than noises and textures… The Sea is a piece of art in itself, so for me it must reflect the soul, the past, the future and also have hope … My dedication to it couldn’t be just textures, it had to be more harmonic"

This album is made of long recording takes, living by themselves droning with analog synths… moments of observation, searching for wellness and calm, floating on your back in a quiet sea.

Sonic Boom Six has emerged from the rubble of culture and politics of 2023 with RE:Generation, a new compilation of their material from the last decade, plus two brand-new tracks.

New song ‘Future Shock’ drops with quite literally a Boom: the band’s signature mix of heroically heavy riffs with dancefloor-ready grooves serving up their horror at the increasingly polarised war zone of social media discourse. ‘One Of The Boys' skewers the old boy's network that has dominated British decision-making for as long as they care to remember over a mash-up of ska-punk and bass music. Throw in road-tested anthems like ‘Virus’, and ‘No Man No Right’ and we have a record that celebrates the band’s remarkable journey while continuing their artistic evolution.

Moreover, in October 2023, Sonic Boom Six are set to inspire a renewed sense of unity and enthusiasm among their fans as they take their electrifying performances to stages across the country for the RE:Generation tour. SB6 is ready to remind us once again that music has the extraordinary ability to touch our souls, unite us as a community, and pave the way for a brighter future.

How low can you go? French producer Fulgeance answers this eternal question with his second album in the space of one year, 
Step Thru. Released as a limited-edition CD on the rx:tx label, with impressive packaging and cover graphics 
by Ease, Step Thru continues to explore Fulgeance’s self-coined low club style, taking it further down below 
into the dark, cavernous crevices that lie between hip hop and electronic music.

On Step Thru Fulgeance returns to a simpler production approach that strips back the unnecessary and focuses on the key elements 
that make people move – the track’s rhythmic swing, its bass melodies and haunting hooks. He also indulges in some new school hip hop 
with two vocal tracks featuring MC Fresh Daily and Yinka. The very last track of the album, the cherry on top, is Kelpe's excellent remix of the title track.
