i’m glad they didnt bring back ridley somehow and instead brought back kraid cuz he is underappretiated. fun fight and great reveal.

I hope Kraid starts to get the Ridley treatment more often and that they appear together in a game again, re-establishing themselves as the originall mainstay duo of the space pirates.

Kraid is so funny to me, cause compared to the other two major space pirate bosses from the first game, Kraid is literally just some big dude. He’s not a hyperintelligent supercomputer gone wrong like Mother Brain, he doesn’t have major ties to Samus’s past like Ridley, he’s just highly ranked enough among the space pirates to be here. And any rivalry he might have developed with Samus over the course of the games is entirely one-sided. In Dread, he looks absolutely enraged Samus would have the gall to show up here, especially when he’s all chained up. But Samus? Well she doesn’t give a single crap. She just charges up her beam like “okay, let’s get this taken care of.” In the end I’m left to wonder, what the heck is Kraid’s story? Who is he among the space pirates? How did he end up unlucky enough to go up against Samus? At this point, who really knows?
