Ant TC1 'All Dispatch' 15 Years of Dispatch Recordings mix - April 2016

Straight from the Middle Kingdom, our next mix comes from Shanghai based Arkaik, ahead of his debut ‘Shapes EP’ on Dispatch LTD. 

An avid label follower since our early years (joining us in 2011 as Octane & DLR remix competition winner), the mix highlights his deep knowledge and respect for the scene.

Don’t fret, this is no nostalgia tour, but focuses on highlighting the relevance of past Dispatch releases today; as fresh the day they were released, mixed with new music, classics and forthcoming Arkaik material. 

“My aim with this mix is to show how the Dispatch back catalogue is still relevant and modern among Drum & Bass’ current affairs. An often underrated producer making some incredible music for a decade now, Bristol based Hydro has remained a favourite of ours for some time. With numerous Dispatch collabs including Cern, Gamma & Mindscape, he returns this month on DLR’s ‘Dreamland LP’, for the mammoth ‘We’re All Wrong’.  

With recent releases on Horizons (with War) and Meth Lab, the mix vibes through forgotten gems and forthcoming cuts, his next outlets are on Warm Communications, Blendits and a Metalheadz collab with OneMind & Cern.

Kyrist is a Bristol-based drum &amp; bass producer and DJ. While this scenario might sound fairly typical, Kirsty Clarke’s journey to this point has been far from the norm.

From her earliest releases she’s been playing her tech-led sound out regularly, with gigs for people like Outlook and Renegade Hardware helping her gain wider recognition from an early age.

For a while she’s also been closely linked with Dispatch Recordings, the revered imprint where she currently juggles the responsibilities of being both a resident DJ and label manager.

She’s also written music for the label, with her <em>Venomous EP</em> earlier this year getting support from techstep behemoths like Noisia and Phace.

With her next appearance at FABRICLIVE happening on 28th July, Clarke hit us up with a mix of heavy drums to give us some idea of what to expect when she lands.

Further building our Belgian brotherhood, the next instalment on Dispatch LTD sees a debut from Murdock on the label, alongside Doctrine & MC Mota.

With a multitude of accolades, including performances at Europe’s biggest events and an increasingly vast back catalogue, we are pleased to welcome the guys to Dispatch; keeping the beats moody, but the energy levels high.

Two tracks explore the depth in Murdock’s sound, collaborating with Doctrine for a more dubbed out, stepping vibe on ‘Planet Rock Riddim’, before bringing in MC Mota for some dancefloor poised fire, with their track ‘Rhythm’.
