@frapperecords have been making some great noise over the last couple of years, hitting the ground running with a superb stream of EP's from label heads @basiledesuresnes & Ten Fingerz along with some great V/A 12"s featuring some of the most essential French talent around.

Their latest release is a rather brilliant triple tracker from Basile featuring this monstrous hypnotic dubbed out string-laden disco house alongside the classic house vibes of Wot U Think and the rather funky disco chop up I Gotta Find You.

All three tracks are serious heat so the purchase of this EP should be a bit of a no brainer.

Mistakes

The Parisian duo Ohmme may be pretty fresh on the scene, but the roots of this project stem deep into the heart and soul of the underground. The project is in fact the brainchild of Olivier Giacomotto and David Lecocq, two of the French capitals most impactful names in the local and international music scene. The vision of this collaboration is to give priority to the groove, the funk and the sexiness of their sound, and with releases on Moan, Suruba X and now here at Deeperfect, no one can deny the impact they are making.
Getting things moving with ‘Clap”, we are introduced to the Ohmme Aesthetic; stripped back and hard hitting drum grooves paired with syncopated sub bass and carefully selected percussion sounds. A funky, energetic vocal weaves its way into the groove and is expertly affected to create tense moments of fun and excitement, which quickly suck back the dominant, pushing groove.
Up next is ‘Discount’ which continues on the theme of the EP with chunky low end pressure and sparing but intricate top grooves. Heavily affected vocals are worked into the groove and bring the tension high. The beats are complemented by some creative sampling and expert production to bring the track to the club stomping climax.
The third and final track ‘Nods’ works energetic percussion and crispy drums overtop of a rolling sub bass. Heavy fx swells and pitched vocal builds bring excitement and tension which releases back to the pumping main groove. It is definitely a track to turn the heat up on the dancefloor and get the crowd going wild!

It is always exciting to have a new EP from Deeperfect label head Stefano Noferini and this release is no exception. It has been a few months since his last EP on Deeperfect, the label he founded and has run for more than a decade. Stefano Noferini is a name synonymous with the finest quality tech house and grooving deep tech, and this EP is another shining example of why he has come so far.
The title track ‘Substrates’ is a rolling Deep Tech groover that is perfectly geared towards the most discerning dancefloors on the planet. The groove is laden with shuffling percussion and Stefano’s signature understated funk. Rich textures and atmospheric pads swirl from the speakers as a driving synth line and punchy sub bass drive the energy home.
Making his debut on Deeperfect, we have Roush Label’s boss man Hector Couto on board. Hector needs no introduction to fans of chunky tech house and lush underground bangers. He has been delivering classy records on a diverse range of top tier labels like 2020 Vision, Bpitch Control and Saved. Hector Couto keeps the vibe of the original but melds it to his personal style of heavy hitting tech house. Hector’s rendition is supported by his signature analog drums that are the perfect ingredient to blow the roof off any warehouse rave!
Finally we have another original cut from Stefano Noferini and this one holds nothing back. ‘In Regards To You’ is another peaktime beast that we all know and love from the studio of Stefano Noferini. This driving bomb has Stefano’s personal brand of organic percussion and textural atmosphere, which is perfectly calibrated to create a frenzy on the floor. Once the rave stabs sound, there is no turning back for this main room monster!

A slice of tuff New York house, it’s the rustling hi hats, infectious vocal and staggered percussion that give this a typical Tenaglia feel. One of America’s finest producers Harry Romero is up next to remix. Fast-paced with a subtly changing groove, it’s the addition of a John Scarpulla’s saxophone solo that creates a fiesta feel. Working together again, Scarpulla is Diana Ross' tour saxophonist who has featured in Harry’s previous tracks including Mongobonix. Awesome Soundwave head honcho Carl Cox serves up the next remix: a dynamic, heritage sounding house cut with flecks of glitchy acid and whirling synths, before his alternative ASW remix comes through with punchy kicks and more underlying acid tones.
