VALRAVN "Instrumental Demo" 2012

An old track spontaneously written/recorded in one day in 1997 (98?) on my Yamaha MT4X four-track. 

Drums looped on a YAMAHA RX5 (1986), run through a KORG 'Pandoras Box' micro-FX.
Keyboard was a ROLAND X6 (I think). Borrowed from a friend for one night. This tune is the result of mucking around on the keyboard. The repeated female screams and dog barks from the sound effects bank are very cheesy... sorry.

Guitar was a Jackson JDR-94 in B-standard tuning run through a BOSS MT-4 Metal Zone direct into the four-track (yuck!).

I'm quite proud listening to this now, because it involved a lot of bouncing down of tracks (mixing as you go!, yet the tune still has a pretty good stereo width and lots of sound layers.

This is a 'hard techno' version of the Maximum Perversion song "Thy Flesh Consumed", or as it was later re-recorded "Thy Ice Cream Consumed". Thank you to Zoee for the guest vox. Rather long-winded & not really "finished" as such, but I uploaded it anyway... Enjoy!

THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE FIVE "Lambert For Real"

FLATUS [fley-tuhs. noun.] 1. Intestinal gas produced by bacterial action on waste matter in the intestines and composed primarily of hydrogen sulphide and varying amounts of methane; 2. Four deranged Aussies paying homage to a Liverpool based band of grinding musicians sharing an unhealthy interest in the macabre.

Originally formed for a special one-off performance at a grindcore festival in Western Australia, this malodorous tribute act features a putrid smelling line up of four of the WA metal scene’s favourite miscreants exhuming and pillaging some of the choicest cuts from Carcass’ first two albums, Reek Of Putrefaction & Symphonies Of Sickness. With the band focusing on this earlier, infamously gore-soaked material, some of the songs picked to cover haven’t actually been included in Carcass’ set-list since 1989! With a handful of songs picked for fans by fans, Flatus wind the clock back to a time when the term "Gore-grind" hadn't yet been invented, and with humble respect similar to that of a funeral director, pay homage to the bludgeoning, gunge-soaked, cadaver-ridden human slaughterhouse that was CARCASS circa 1987-89. Awful people playing awful music… reformed specially for Obscene Extreme Fesival (AUS), Flatus will definitely REEK, but hopefully won’t stink!!!
