to begin, one card is drawn. the value of the card is called the "seed value"
the seed value denotes how many hands of three card poker to play per section
it also determines the key using the circle of fifths

the games of poker are then played. a note cluster is determined by the values of each card in a
played hand.

the pitch of the root note is a function of the key, the scale degree of which is determined
by the hand type* drawn as follows:
high card        - 1     
pair             - 2     
two pair         - 3     
three of a kind  - 4     
straight         - 5     
flush            - 6     
full house       - 7     
four of a kind   - 8

the lowest value drawn in the player's hand acts as the root note of the cluster, with each
other card functioning as an offset (in semitones) of the root note.

the piece ends when there are exactly zero cards remaining in the draw deck at any given point, including before a seed has finished
