Emma Louise has been some how chosen by Wankelmut. It has been the DJ from Berlin who brought her to Europe from Perth, Australia. And he has been the first that after his huge remix success of Asaf Avidan “One Day / Reckoning Song”, chose “Jungle” and turned it into another success, “My Head is a Jungle”. Emma Louise also released her first album “VS HEAD VS HEART” and “Boy” is her second single. It’s a sweet and sad song at the same time, one of Emma’s favourites, tied to a deep and true love that suddenly disappeared. The Original track is released together with five remixes, so different and so close in giving “Boy” a more solid club and radio background. Shanghai Beat-Vicio Rmx has born thanks to Luca “Vicio” Vicini. He is a producer and the bass player of Subsonica, the Italian cult band. Vicio has lately released on EGO his new project and track Shanghai Beat “All The Time In The World”. The second remix is by Spada, the Italian DJ and producer that starting from underground music panorama succeeded in being played by the Major League of Music Scene. Among the others: Benny Benassi, Sister Bliss, Chris Lake, Steve Aoki. The third remix is by Talul, a Dresden born producer, son of a German mother and a Lebanese father. His solo project is all about electronic and he shares his booking agency with Wankelmut. We should keep an eye on this young producer. Closing the remix package there are two pearls by Carl Fath and Fausto Fanizza from Starchaser, including a guitar line that will get itself talked about for a long time. Together these remixes write a beautiful interpretation of Emma Louise “Boy”. The northern-southern connection doesn’t stop here.

Crystalline sounds paired with a sweeping ambience become the perfect backdrop for HRRSN’s profuse vocals on Better Off. Airy pads float alongside affecting harmonies, creating rhythm and emotion as the track culminates into a serene resolution.

Leipzig-based Schlepp Geist applies his movie soundtrack approach to production on the remix, adding immersive textures and percussive details that bring the track to new heights. 

BONDI’s remix unveils a deep and searching tone, with added strings and glitched up patterns that reset the initial mood and put the chorus at the epicentre of the entire construction. 
Stand Tall sees HRRSN diving deeper into the wistful territory that his sound palette encapsulates so effortlessly. Sustained notes and a light synth haze come to a boil just as the vocals reach an emotive peak: “Through you I got a glimpse of this feeling called love/I’m heading home”.

Retaining the raw emotion of the vocal, Kid Simius delivers an upbeat, disco-infused bit with a meandering synth melody that settles and gradually unfurls. 

Closer Riptide provides an intense cinematic experience, with stirring piano pads bound to the artist’s crooning vocals. The track swells and reverberates, assisted by fluttering blips and taps that add to its moody suspense.

All in all, a release where HRRSN showcases maturity both as a singer and producer, with apt alternatives that make it a diverse and fulfilling assortment of soundscapes.

Roddy Reynaert is in full force currently and is as productive as he has ever been. This release marks Roddy's second Colorize appearance, which is much welcomed by the Enhanced Music family. Phoenix is much in line with the recent Myrddin EP by Roddy but on this number he does go for a bigger trance melody. On the remixes we have two new names to Colorize; Polish hotshot Kobana and newcomer Samee from Spain. Kobana goes for a very lead-driven version while Samee grooves it up to a nice and pleasant set starter. Ifonika is not only a Roddy Reynaert moniker but also the name of his own new label. In this remix he takes Phoenix in a slightly rougher direction but without ripping up the essence of the track - a remix with a wonderful drive and bass. Roddy again displays his capabilities when it comes to creating tunes with a groovy edge and a solid melody.
