Reprising his long and fruitful association with Poker Flat, Martin Landsky - elder statesmen and bona fide legend of Berlin's club scene - serves up another superb EP that is more than ample testimony to de- cades of experience in production and be- hind the decks at virtually every noteworthy club or festival you might care to name.

Right from the off, 'Da Geh Bo' hits the sweet spot with its booming bass, precisi- on percussion and spacious production va- lues. This is big, bold, upfront tech house garnished with imagination - not least the cut-up vocalizations that zip and echo in the mix.

'Under The Bridge' is equally ballsy, its re- petitive stabs demonstrating Landsky's in- nate understanding for what moves people in both body and mind. Synth drones sweep above you like searchlights over Gotham, soaring up towards a textbook climax.

Rounding things off, the House Mix of the title track marries a hard-hitting kick to a nebula of reverberating synth: a foundation for a swinging, swaying and utterly super- smooth groove.

In keeping with the theme of creating house records that reference the past while having a firm eye looking into the future Light Year returns with his third instalment for Exploited Records. Bell Trax finds the Australian producer stretching out a warm colourful enveloping arpeggio that ebbs and flows as the track evolves over its almost 7 minute duration. The crunchy drum track elements push the track forwards inspired by the warmth of vintage tape recordings. Bell Trax is gimmick free 4/4 club music! The b-side Smoking Causes Blindness keeps with this warm saturated feel laid out by the lead track. Utilising a chunky rolling bass line and a crisp synth pad this track will burn through frequencies if you're not careful. Anchored in the breakdowns with an inquisitive vocal asking 'thats what this is all about, right?' before the low end kicks back in and answers the question for you.

After Anja Schneider finished 2010 and Miss Kittin kicked off 2011 for mobilee, it´s Maya Jane Coles turn now on mobilee074.
