ACCENTVA007 - Various Artists 007 is a kind of state of the art, a mapping of the contemporary deep experimental and techno music scene. This musical work is without any doubt the most consequent and ambitious release of the label. It is a question here of showing through nearly 2h30 of music the beauty and diversity of the current musical scene, of what it has of specific, here and there, through the glances of artists from all over the world, emerging or now known, women and men. Each of them has added a stone to the edifice by marking an original sound piece with his signature. So many facets in this kaleidoscopic and multi-cultural collective work, which gives us a glimpse of new musical possibilities. This immense testimony is not only a marker of the contemporary era but also an aesthetic door to what tomorrow can be; and it is in this luminous and hopeful vision that the cover is intended as a symbol. The thousand-year-old olive tree is, through its fruit, a gift to humanity and, through its strength, a powerful testimony to its resistance to time, to its place in the landscape, through the strength of its roots and the beauty of its knots. It tells us what we are.

"I was 20 years old when I was first properly introduced to
electronic music. My musical background only consisted of having played “professionally” the recorder flute during my childhood, but not much apart from that.
I even recorded a few tapes back then, but mostly to satisfy my technical curiosity.
As soon as I was old enough though, I started traveling to nearby nightclubs and parties in larger cities with my friends. While others preferred dancing to Monica Kruse, I found myself more and more drawn towards the Schranz-floor. Although back then I hadn’t yet entirely grasped the importance that techno music would play for
me in the future.
At 24 I got hooked on Homo Elektrik, a party-collective from Leipzig, and my then girlfriend animated me to try out dj-ing. I bought myself two Technics mk2, that I still own today, got gifted a Gemini technomaster, and acquired myself a Vinyl bundle in 4/4 time.
Techno music is such a multifaceted music genre, so that I decided to stay faithful to it ever since. I only do Techno, 4 to the floor, it makes me very happy, especially when two different tracks mix and fuse together and start to groove." fr.JPLA

Guest 012: Gaztambide

"Gaztambide is a DJ, live act, and producer (Night Tales of Crete) based in Amsterdam, whose roots in electronic music trace back to his hometown of Málaga, Spain. Growing up surrounded by the breakbeat scene of the early 2000s, he developed a deep love for the genre that would later influence his work.

After moving to Barcelona for work, Gaztambide was drawn into the city’s vibrant nightlife and thriving electronic music community. Inspired by the city's underground artists, especially his friend Mario Picosso, he found his way into the world of techno. Over the next seven years, he became an integral part of Structured Records, refining his sound and establishing his unique musical identity.

Today, Gaztambide continues to build his career as a producer and live performer. His name also pays tribute to his great-grandfather, Joaquín Gaztambide, a renowned classical composer. Gaztambide’s sets are known for their thick, heavy kicks, organic textures, and subtle percussion, all deeply rooted in his breakbeat background.

Since relocating to Amsterdam, Gaztambide has played in some of the most iconic venues, including Radion and De School, and has shared the stage with well-known artists like Argie, Mystral, Filippa Pacho, Regis, Pearl, Lady Machine, Reeko, Jeans, Spekki Webu, and Konduku. He has also played at major festivals like Liquicidy and Landjewel.

In addition to his solo work, Gaztambide aligns and collaborates with collectives such as New Era, Disturbia, Ypnotika, Valparaiso and more. His diverse connections and collaborations further fuel his creative drive, allowing him to explore new sounds and push the boundaries of his genre.

With his unique blend of sounds and textures, Gaztambide creates sets that are as colorful as they are hypnotic, always keeping the dance floor moving and evolving."

A resident jockey and driving force of the lauded Herrensauna parties, Vienna-born Berlin-based CEM breezes in RYC's series with a special mix delivery recorded at the almighty Tresor on 29th December.
