With Assembler, his second full-length album, Yen Tech re emerges in ecstatic and primordial new form -- a multi-layered and interwoven work that blends futuristic production, meta-science fiction, and anthropic critique into a dizzying array of next scenarios -- a maze-like vision of our technological and exponentially oracular, full-stack future.

This imagined future becomes a construct or place in itself; one in which the record buzzes and swarms; a mechanosphere of towering melodic vocal samples and sound design - all narrated by Yen Tech's unnerving, diaristic vocals - as he channels the form of post-human techno cretin, whispering hyperbolic ASMR to no one in particular. We follow this character from one disorienting experience to the next as he recites a stream of indecipherable neologisms and hyper-descriptives, the existential residue seeping from every line. In the end though, a strange, uneasy beauty comes into focus; the metamorphic lyrics and musical euphorias revealing Assembler as a type of elegy: a wet glass reflection of the failures of what we are and were - and a jubilant celebration of what we may become.

"I imagined Assembler as a type of self imposed simulation, an invisible boundary that the narrator has to navigate out of to move forward. It was a way of looking at how we may carry the issues and failures of the past with us into the future. The psychological baggage of history, the guilt of geotrauma, the addictive melange of technology all become dealt with in this stage of acceptance and recovery. I wrote the album with this in mind, a process to find the slimy pearl of who we are" - Yen Tech

Daniel Barrera aka @os76mx is a digital image and sound creator and a cultural manager based in Iztapalapa on the eastern periphery of Mexico City. As OS76, his productions connect rhythms and sequences inspired by ritual, devotion, and the street, blurring genres into pieces that stimulate and encourage.

BAJO PLEASUR3 offers 6+1 tracks with urgent, powerful sounds centered around thick bass and broken rhythms. To listen is to enter a highly textured vortex of sound that is equal parts sanguine and resistant.

Forceful bass envelops frenetic compositions representing the aggressiveness and corrosion of daily life in near-uninhabitable expansion zones. Vocal samples dictate unashamed mantras, demanding we obey our instinctive and animal aspects while accepting our contamination by the murky landscapes that surround us. In the nuclear residue of cities, the energies of forgotten populations erupt. A disorienting flow of untameable asperity, a chaotic resonance transmitted from the peripheries.

The EP includes a club-ready bonus remix by ENN, a producer and DJ based in the south of Mexico City whose sound embodies a constant search for hybridization and the deterritorialization of club music. The remix reframes a classic Future vocal into the EP's gritty and unworldy soundscape.

Making his return to the Infinite Machine catalog is Nostro Hood System boss Galtier with his 3 track EP ‘Dancing On Ruins’; a relentless slug of driving percussion and discordant atmospheres. Taking quite a step from his 2018 ‘Terran’ EP released on IM, Galtier abandons the hopeful, up-lifting, sometimes euphoric mood that has characterized much of his sound for the last few years and flexes his ability to handle anxious, hard-hitting techno-influenced material – a healthy departure from the purposeful, existential theme evident in earlier works.

‘Dancing On Ruins’ is characterized by its dusty, weather-beaten sound palette, as if such music was created and played in a desolate, lifeless world to provide solitude for the stoic beings that reside there. It is fast and aggressive, utilising techno-esque sonics as its base, yet it avoids being scary or oppressive or too stereotypical in nature.

Scuffed Souls’ leads into the chaos with the pounding force of its 909 kick that thumps over the ever-evolving, fundamentally gothic sequence of melody. It is menacing and daunting to say the least, and gets straight to the point. Rhythmically it is reminiscent of classic rave-inclined techno but draws for quick transitions evident in contemporary club music. Crisp, pointed hi hats play gracefully amongst the angry soundscape and are quickly scared off by the growling Moog bassline that rumbles in to occupy the decrescendo.

The rhythm is broken and far more syncopated on ‘Precious Quartz (To Reave), which likewise increases in BPM from 140 to 148. Being the most stripped back, percussively oriented track on the whole release, Galtier flexes his capacity to execute myriad shifts in rhythm and pace as the majority of the track chugs along, the vessel made up of a its short but monstrous kick, sharp hi hat slashes, restrained 909 rides and a mutated bell call – warning others of its approach.

Finally the namesake of the EP, ‘Dancing On Ruins’, takes place, leaving the zenith of the release’s unnerving energy for last. Galtier combines elements of UK Techno rhythm with loose UK Funky instrumentation and meshes the two and speeds things up significantly. Though the rhythm returns to a more pulsing, simply structured state, the hollow lead is pulverising and raw throughout the whole track. This, accompanied by the blistering 150 BPM tempo, makes it a vicious, restless beast.
