"With a string of releases as Garage Shelter, Signal ST and alongside Hardrock Striker as Bleu Blanc House, Signal St. returns to line up his first LP with SKYLAX. Laden with indecipherable disco and funk samples, emotive chord changes and clocking in at one hour, it’s fully fledged dance album with no filler, showing what contemporary house music should sound like in 2021 on a label that has always pushed the genre. The album wanders through a range of functions and energies, from One For You on which Signal St. channels Moodymann, Life Aquatic, where the looping styles of Moomin play centre to a dance of whispy 808 symbols and the percussive workout of Right Next To Me which gives way to the album’s final act. Though club-ready and touching on a range of moods, it evolves from its from its disco/funk beginnings and descending into a 10-minute downtempo finale, swallowed by an abyss of reverb. Like an explosive separation of two people, thrown from the plains of heaven to the depths of hell, “Zapoï and other dysfunctional love stories, closing the loops” pulls together the many faces of Signal St. in a dance album that reflects a young producer entering his prime."

Renowned Jazz musician Ulf Kleiner lands on Ian Pooley’s Pooled Music this April with ‘Tubes’Grande’ featuring three remixes from the label boss. 

A long term collaborator of Pooley, lending rich keyboard work to the legendary producer’s records over the years, Ulf Kleiner is better known outside of electronic music. Taken from his 2020 LP, ‘Pianoskop’, ’Tubes Grande’ is a light but immersive piece of acoustic modern Jazz that, at just 3.36 minutes, begs repeat listens. Pooley’s interpretations, a ‘Main Version’, ‘Dub’ and ‘Analog Piano Dub Mix’ lead Kleiner’s work to the dancefloor in distinct ways, showing off the producers deft touch and studio experience across the package. From the decidedly organic, mid-paced house of the ‘Analog Piano Dub’ to the dense, electronic melodies of the ‘Main Version’ to the blissed out ‘Ian Pooley Dub’ this Pooley in the form of his career.

We are very pleased to finally present you a new Lorenz Rhode release, for the „Sandpaper EP“ Lorenz Rhode and Jamie Lidell get together again. Their first collab „Any Kind of Pressure“ was followed by Lorenz joining Jamie’s world tour and a remix of „Big Love“ for Warp Records. Jamie performs with an amazing energy, and his soulful voice is carried by a warm and playful house backing: Minimoog bass, Rhodes piano and just some sparkles of a very old Roland synth that Lorenz had just bought, and which is now broken.

The second new jam „On the Nightshift“ is a fun stabby tune based on a spiraling chord progression. It loops every three-and-a-half bars, just to make life harder for DJs. A real nice warm groover.

The remix for „Sandpaper“ is a true family affair! Sound Support is the all new project by Lars Dales better known as 1/2 of Detroit Swindle and Lorenz himself. They’ve just released their debut EP on Prins Thomas’ “Internasjonal” label in October this year, here they take Jamie’s vocal into a more dramatic and electronic territory touching electro grounds. To close things out we also added an instrumental on the vinyl and radio mix on the digital version of this new EP. Enjoy as much as we did putting this together for you!

Ste Flynn is a progressive house producer and DJ hailing from Dublin and resident DJ and booker at Melodic Dublin, one of Ireland’s leading club nights in progressive house and melodic techno.

Ste releases his 'Beneath The Shell' track as part of the 'Illuminate The Night' Compilation, curated by Rennie Foster, featuring a collection of RF regulars, plus new rising producers such as Ste Flynn himself.

"Beneath The Shell’ is quite different from my previous releases. A pure hardware jam from a while back that stemmed into something with the High Tech Soul of Detroit. Four Four Premiere: Ste Flynn - Beneath The Shell [RF]

Hot on the heels of two EP releases on Bristol label Shall Not Fade, Felipe Gordon is preparing for the release of his debut album titled 'A Landscape Onomatopeya' on the important UK imprint.

With human contact at an absolute minimum, it’s refreshing to hear an electronic music record that ventures away from the machine in favour of the organic. Felipe Gordon’s ability to blend complex jazz instrumentation with acid-licked basslines, golden-age house aesthetics and the cultural sounds of South America is unrivalled; creating distinctive, beautiful and exciting house records from his home in the Colombian capital of Bogotá.

The album 'A Landscape Onomatopeya' was crafted through the concept of a painting; exploring shades, changes of tone, use of light. “I found myself making tons of music and wondering how to start an album process”, he says, “something with more concept; a long journey between all the different musical influences in my head. I wanted to try to accomplish something with soul, deepness and an inherent melancholia to it. More organic, more human.”

Today, we premiere the 4th track from Felipe's album, titled 'The Colombian Excursions of House Music'.

For our sixth release we have turned to one of our favourite humans on the planet - the unstoppable James Rod. We have had the pleasure of working with James for a few years now and he is easily the most prolific contributor to Gouranga. His live show is mind-blowingly cool and we cannot wait to party again with him soon...in the meantime this three-track EP is amazing, but the fine people at Juno describe it best : - ;
