The Knocks' "Modern Hearts" really sounded like a really great remix of an 80's New Wave track, even though it is an original song. I figured I'd work backwards and try to make my song sound like what they sampled to make "Modern Hearts". I hope that makes sense without knocking The Knocks. Nonetheless hope you like the track!

I first started writing this one while watching the scene in Risky Business with Tangerine Dream’s track “Love on a Real Train”, trying to capture that mood. As the track evolved it took on more of a Michael McDonald vibe which lead to title “What Would Michael McDonald Do?” (which is kinda a mantra I live my life by). The original demo resembled “I Keep Forgetting” with some vocoder (maybe we’ll release it at some point). We were blessed to have Zacari come in and absolutely destroy the vocals which lead to him performing on “Pretty Woman II”.
