We hadn't written an original lyrical song in a while, and initially we weren't sure which direction to take. What came out was a sweet little tune, steeped in nostalgia, with a modern twist. The vocals were originally sang by "Waves" collaborator, Dorian Kitaoka, but while experimenting we stumbled onto a new technique of vocoding that preserved the subtleties or Dorian's performance while delivering the classic robotic tone. We instantly knew that sound was the perfect pair for the tongue in cheek lyrics.
