A longtime devotee of Classic House, raw grooves, and the swung rhythms of UK Minimal, Dutch artist Nigel Hey has been refining his sound in the studio and behind the decks. A seasoned songwriter with credits on major productions, including Rauw Alejandro’s global hit ‘El Efecto’, which has amassed over 700 million streams, Nigel has honed a solid foundation for his artistic journey. Now, 2025 sees Nigel step onto Jamie Jones’ Hottrax with ‘Bring The Funk Back’, delivering two funk-fueled, groove-heavy cuts primed for the dancefloor. 

Soaked in sun-drenched rhythms, ‘Bring The Funk Back’ bursts to life with sweat-inducing bongo beats and vibrant trumpets, setting the tone for the summer months ahead. Nigel then shifts gears with ‘Can You Feel It’, a track built for the club with a tight, driving groove and an unwavering focus on energy.

Straight from the heart of Amsterdam’s vibrant club scene, PIV founder Prunk and RED 87 offer up a first-time collaboration with their ‘Express EP’, landing 23rd May. Featuring three original cuts and a remix from UK duo RUZE, the release captures the duo’s shared passion for soulful house grooves—delivered just in time for summer. 

Opening with the title track, ‘Express’ brings together lush synth pads, simmering hi-hats, and echoed vocal snippets, crafting a warm, hypnotic energy that reflects the pair’s signature sound. RUZE steps in to reimagine the original with a sun-soaked, transportive flair, adding vibrant textures and an irresistible late-night feel. On ‘Listen’, Prunk and RED 87 showcase their knack for stripped-back club music, layering rippling melodies and tight, luscious percussion built for both the dancefloor and the afters. Closing cut ‘Break It Down’ tips its hat to classic Hot Creations energy—funk-laced, percussive, and oozing with charm, it wraps up the EP with a high-octane flourish.

From Hot Natured and Jamie Jones to Burnski and Danny Daze. It's one of those labels that is on almost every producer's release bucket list.
