Following standout appearances on Feel My Bicep, Unknown To The Unknown, and E-MISSIONS, Irish-born DJ/producer Cromby hits Rekids with a four-track EP of crisp techno cuts. Heavily utilising the sound of hardware across the release, ‘Twisted Future EP’ sees Cromby explore the depths of these classic sound palettes over robust techno frameworks. 

‘IXP-42’ brings crunching drums and wiggling synths together for over two minutes, building tension before eventually, the much-awaited bassline comes in thick and fast. ‘Follow The Bass’ brings a dose of the unusual to proceedings, with snaking FM leads modulating throughout a maze of sizzling percussion.

On the flip, Bleep meets Baltimore on ‘Relief’, with meaty acid lines, vocals and clattering drums sparring with each other across the track, while ‘Vortex’ rounds off the release, with bright shimmering stabs peppering the stomping drums and distinct squelch of the 303.

One of my all-time favourite rave records!

I used to love playing the original at Tin Pan Alley in the 90s. The hook is one of the most memorable from that genre - I didn't want to change the vibe too much. I recreated the parts, used the Rave Generator plugin for the stab and beefed up the BPM/ low-end for today's dancefloors.

Thanks to http://Fadr.com and their AI model that rescued the vocal stem from a track that's over 30 years old! 
Also thanks to Renaat from R&S who gave me permission to put this edit up for the new generations to enjoy.

Another one of Ability II early gems from the 2000's (from a limited promo releases called Get Busy), this tune features vocals snippets from Yorkshire grown artists Sara Garvey aka Comfy Bella and DJ Precious. Very much a ambient dubby vibe with a sub steppas groove, this again reflects the deeper moody and creative side of Ability II from his days back in Chapletown Leeds UK, always sounding fresh!

The Barcelona based DJ and producer's influence across the tech house and techno scene over the last 20 years is indisputable. 

His melodic masterpiece "Diabla", released in 2001 became a huge global hit and DJ Mag's 'techno record of the year'. Played by house, progressive, techno even trance DJs, its release saw the Scot’s career soar to new heights! 

Other hits "Jack Me Off," "Bad Coffee”, "Emotional Content", remixes for Underworld, New Order, and Laurent Garnier, plus releases for Bedrock, Drumcode, and All Day I Dream, are just a mere snapshot of his discography. 

Seminal mix compilations for Balance Series, Soma's Sci-Fi Hi-Fi, and Cocoon followed, further cementing his place in dance music history. 

Still not content with conquering techno, Sandberg was mystery figure behind “Francois Dubois”, with releases such "Blood" and "I Try" named as a big influence for Darius Syrossian, plus many other leading tech house DJs of his generation.
