Funkftober, Tuesday 12th October, 8:40pm Captains log.

It's been 12 days since I set out on this mammoth journey, who knows what mystical marvels lay ahead. What a task I have given myself, some would say it couldn't be done,  but I know deep down it was a journey that has to be taken, one for myself and one for all of you. 

As I am in this process of letting go and creating avenues unseen, who knows where we shall end up as we travel our inner realms, but I will keep steering this starship till we find our direction. Thank you for travelling with me my friends, next stop, we are aiming for the stars.

One Life

We’ve got a very special mix for you today, recorded live with a trumpet, synthesizers, and a drum machine – by the very talented – @techbaker.

Born near Rotterdam in the Netherlands, he grew up in a strict religious environment. The Sunday dress code was black, and television was prohibited. 

Music became the bright spot in Tech Baker’s life. He chose the trumpet over the children’s choir, and in the late 90’s he discovered house music. He began experimenting with electronic music and began weaving in dreamy sounds and his own trumpet melodies.

The Karismatik Podkast 43 - Tech Baker

Based in Geneva, Black Space has released his first Ep on Einmusika, one of the best electronic german music label. His style can be described as a soft mix of techno and atmospheric sounds and each Black Space's track invites you to dance on a dreamy journey. Shortly after, he released is second EP « Vinsobre » on Einmusika and got the support of big djs such as Einmusik, Lane 8 and Eelke Kleijn. The EP made it to the top 10 releases in the melodic house and techno category on Beatport. He then released several remixes on ICONYC, ranging from breakbeat to melodic techno.

He is mainly performing at Audio Club, a famous nightclub in Geneva, where has done warm ups for world-class djs such as Einmusik, Super Flu, Shimza or Animal trainers. He's also part of « le Ski Club », a Geneva based dj crew focused on house music. Recently he released his last single « Frank » on the 4th compilation of « Le Ski Club », a track with a 90’s touch.
