Chine was the younger sister of Mukai Kyorai, the author of last week’s poem. Together the siblings kept a journal during a trip from Kyoto to the Ise shrine in 1686. Kyorai’s Ise Journal begins as follow:

 

    The sun hot yet wind cool on our heads,
    I take my younger sister on a pilgrimage to Ise.

Chine died in 1688, at 26. The haiku of the week is Chine’s death poem.

This was fun to make. I experimented with the MIDI by programming the piano roll. The distorted guitar lead type sound was programmed on the piano roll so the image looks like planes flying

Lynda Faye asked if I would like to have a go at reworking a piece she wrote some time back and had never properly finished.  I may have a few chords wrong here and there and applied a bit of artistic licence, but here is the final piece.


Tortured & Tainted.

She  had faces and hair,
Bodies to wear, just like the preacher man said.
Live in it , you must, from the fear through the lust,
You're stuck in this shell, til you're dead!.

Her soul slightly tainted, tortured and taunted,
This was never the life she had planned.
She wanted children, ..and a house in the country,
But she always , found the wrong  man.

From pillar to post, more lucky than most;
She fought her  way through the crowd.
Sometimes you can hear it, 
When she died,  her spirit...is crying  alone, out loud.

She had faces to wear,
Pretty dresses to wear, just like the preacher man said.
Live in it, you must, from the fear to the lust,
You're stuck in this shell, til you're dead!

I am open to any kind of collaborations. Especially I am looking for a female vocalist for the collabs! That is what I think my music would need. Don't hesitate to ask. I am happy to do commercial works too!

It’s impossible to put my music in one genre. It is peculiar and unique. It can be influenced by trip hop, breakbeat, instrumental hip hop, techno, sound art, contemporary, music concrete, glitch, abstract hip hop, minimal, etc.

I like most of these artists, and maybe you can hear the inspiration from them: by far the best are Daft Punk and Massive Attack, then come others like the 90's Ninja Tune artists such as Amon Tobin, DJ Vadim, The Herbaliser and Kid Koala, many of which I have seen live at the legendary Ilosaari Rock festivals in its day. I also like Le Peuple de l’herbe (I appreciate French hip hop the most, which often has spices from several genres anyway). Also, now comes to mind The Prodigy, Portishead, DJ Krush, DJ Shadow, Gorillaz, Röyksopp, Boards of Canada, Moby, Mono, Thievery Corporation, Future Sound of London, and so on, you know how the list might go on with 90s electronic music well-known and rarer names. Without naming individual artists anymore, I listen to music from all genres like acid jazz, funk, lo-fi, and other easy-to-listen music as background music for other arts and science making and sometimes even punk or hard metal in the mood for them.

I've been doing music at the beginning of the 2000s with a Tracker, namely MadTracker -Software (I am fine with the program name). Something like two years I have done again actively music with Ableton Live 10. Some of my bizarre song is based on experimentation back in 20 years ago and some are new compositions. They, too, are experimental, maybe because I've done the research career of about 20 years. I want to explore everything, including music, of course. My second passion is everything related to nature. I maintain a micro-farm during the summer, keep sheep and chickens there, for example, and return it to its original traditional biohabitat. So far in the winter I live in the city dreaming of spring, summer and autumn at the countryside.

I am open to collaborations just like in science: then one can create something completely new and exciting. Do not hesitate to contact!
