I knew Sparks as a two-hit wonder from the 1970's. However, thanks to Netflix, I watched "The Sparks Brothers" documentary on their career which started in 1966 and they have been influencing, collaborating and filling auditoriums and stadiums since having produced 25 albums of quirky songs over their long career. . 

I am a belated Sparks convert!. 

This hit from 1994 which made #7 in Germany.

Wikipedia says the Gabrielle's 2001 hit, "Rise", "takes extensively from Bob Dylan's 1973 song "Knockin' on Heaven's Door", albeit reportedly with Bob Dylan's permission. 

That is probably the understatement of the 21st century and I took the two songs and mashed them together to find that only the melody and lyrics had changed. Everything else aligned perfectly.

So this is hopefully an interesting curio for Gabrielle, Guns N Roses and Bob Dylan fans alike.

Gabrielle - Rise/Knocking On Heaven's Door (mash-up)

Herb Albert's classic 1979 Disco Hit; mostly played when the pizzas were being served or when you wanted to give the punters one last slow disco dance before turning the cleaning lights on. 

The advantage of this track was that you could both slow dance with your partner if things were going well, or dance awkwardly apart from each other longing for the bright lights being turned on before beating a path to the toilets and planning your escape! :-)

Hi all, so from 2016 to 2024 I assembled and produced a large collection of covers of many of my favorite tunes as my own hobby (and many during COVID lock-downs!) and I have accumulated over 2,900,000 plays across the world which is awesome!

I am much more of a producer that a musician. These first 8 years of my music was mostly based on midi cover tracks often downloaded from the Internet but heavily reproduced and re-imagined variously on my two Yamaha keyboards (Clavinova and PSR 975), but also using PC midi editing & DAW software.

Towards the end of that period, I added some of my more original electronic music which I produced over the past two decades under the name of Funkleberry in order to consolidate my Soundcloud accounts. 

But in 2024 I got into AI music generation and I am now  a freelance songwriter and AI music producer. It's been a fun journey!
