Premiere: Jan Blomqvist - Our Broken Mind Embassy (Boris Brejcha Remix) [Armada Electronic Elements]

Calling an EP “Devil” although it will most certainly conjure a smile on the face of any elctronic music enthusiast might come as a surprise, or even cause confusion. 
But let’s be fucking serious, when Boris Brejcha picked this title, he had probably no evil thoughts in mind but was rather daydreaming of one of his many shows that are known to turn any club into a diabolically hot sweat lodge due to the energetic atmosphere and ecstatic crows. 
So in the end you could arque that the title of his new EP seems long overdue. 

The name giving A-Side comes as clean and to the point as we know it from Boris Brejcha.
A rolling beat that never looks back but marches forward, driven by pure energy and nifty as hell. 
Let the speaking devil suck you into this dark piece of High-Tech Minimal and join the ride for almost the minutes. 

Right from the start “The Darkest Night” reveals an even groovier drive that makes it sound unstoppable. Furthermore the track turns out to be an emotional rollercoaster in the form of a roaring and intimidating fanfare that fades in and out before a catchy melody line spreads a thoughtful and intimate atmosphere. This B-side will definitely make you want to go for another round…and another round…

Last but not least this “devilish” EP will end “In The Middle Of Nowhere”. But unlike the name implies, Boris Brejcha is taking you right to his musical epicenter. 
Expect one of Boris’ most multifaceted tracks that prove why his career continues to skyrocket.

Berlin-based Irish artist Hybrasil delivers a high-grade debut album on Radio Slave’s Rekids. Since moving to Berlin Hybrasil has been an avid buyer of records at Hardwax, going to modular workshops at the cult Schneidersladen, attending Superbooth and Berlin Atonal, Panorama Bar and Berghain, whilst releasing his big, arresting techno sounds on his own eponymous label. Alongside this he’s been spending time in the studio with Radio Slave, who played Hybrasil's ‘Hathor’ in Panorama Bar which kicked off a three-month burst of creativity that led to this album. As such, the album is very much a product of the artist's time in Berlin and was written for the Panorama Bar and Berghain sound system and all who attend its dance halls.

The album takes off with the smooth rolling techno of'Hathor'; that gets you on your toes, while 'Come Back'; soon ups the ante thanks to the way Hybrasil twists and turns his synths above the rooted kick drums. 'Ceres'; then has edgy sustained chords and thunderous claps that will sound mega in a cavernous warehouse space.

'Orpeheus'; is a masterclass in economical but effective techno, with well-crafted hi hats, rolling kicks and vocal stabs all driving it forward. 'Ursa Minor'; traps the listener in unresolved loops that keep a locked groove, until 'Messier'; mixes up seriously weighty bass-drum thuds and Jeff Mills style melodic minimalism. The compelling LP completes with 'Igigi'; and 'Vela', two more astral techno rollers with celestial synths and devastating drum programming.

Now here's a classic 2020 version of contemporary Techno for "Dark Energy".
Ghost layering on the kick drum and hard and loud metal percussions combine with the acid bassline from the original, along with my contra percs and give a great feel and vibe to this remix. 

djseanEboy's version is on point, his mix is really good despite the hard elements he chose to include in his recipe. Loving the fact that he slices up my original chords in a profound way, giving a strict character to his version. 
I also love the overlays of his own elements, like the bass pad he chose to follow the notation pattern of the original's chords, as well as his added pads on the breakdown. 
room for improvement exists also. I would have given the track an greater overall presence at the 180-280 region to make it fuller, but, this is me!
