Hawa（ハワ）ことJennifer Zonou（ジェニファー・ゾノ）は、フランス人の母と、セネガル人の父親の間に生まれ、幼少の頃より音楽漬けの環境で育つ。 『My Little Green Box』に詰まった音楽を一度耳にすれば、彼女が、ジャンルレスな音楽中毒者（＝DJ）であった父親から、ソウル、ファンク、ジャズ、ラップやレゲエ、アフロビート等の膨大なレコードコレクションを受け継ぎ、アメリカンフォークやポップ好きな母親の影響から、Rickie Lee Jonesといったアーティスト達の美しいメロディーラインやソングライティングに大きくインスピレーションを受け、見事全てを吸収しているとすぐに納得できるはずだ。
