Blunt Force - Changing Times (FunkStatik Remix)

It was right around 3 and a half years ago, at a small event in Detroit called LAZER TAG, that I met intergalactic funk wizard Freddy Todd﻿. Since then, I have come to call Fred one of my closest friends in this whole music thing. His song, "Winter Defroster" has held a special place in my heart throughout our friendship, as I feel that it truly represents all that is good in the funk-glitch realm while also symbolizing our brotherhood...so when Fred asked me to remix one of his tracks, it was a no brainer which one I chose.

Unfortunately this remix could not be featured on Fred's remix album due to a name conflict and the label refusing to release it as a result of that conflict, so I have decided to post it up for everyone to enjoy. Without further ado, I present to you my remix of one of my favorite songs of all time.

“Eye”, the second half of Psymbionic’s “Parallels” album, reveals the velvety side of this versatile producer’s toolbox. Teaming up with fellow Gravitas Recordings artists, Psymbionic delivers the polished yet dynamic Silkscreen in collaboration with southern California’s Soulular. Next comes Sonder, a wonky, beat driven affair crafted in the mountains of Colorado with The Digital Connection. ill-esha closes things out with a bouncy street-bass rendition of Silkscreen made to animate crowds of all flavors.
