Based in Chicago, Funktion Recordings, has steadily become one of the most innovative and leading House Music labels, Worldwide. Founded by Josh Hobbs and run along with Gus Calderone of "The House Moguls". The Label has played host to some of House music's finest producers, including Kid Creme, Ian Carey, Franky Rizardo, Harrison Crump, Noir, David Tort, Afrojack, Bingo Players and more.  Always holding to its “roots” while still looking to the future and the evolution of our music, Funktion has developed and worked with many of House Music’s finest well before the adulation and mass appeal were present, a feat that the label continues to pride itself on to this day.
Now with almost two hundred releases in its repertoire, Funktion Recordings has expanded its horizon into other sonic territories with its new sub-label, "Funktion Black". The new imprint looks to delve into the darker styles of the genre; its audio pallet will include the futuristic sounds of tech-house, techno, tribal and minimal and will continue to use the forward thinking aesthetics laid down from day one of its inception.
Time will tell what the next evolution and developments will bring to increasingly varied audio spectrum of Funktion, but rest assured, the quality and consistency will continue into the future as the label continues to grow and spread its Chicago based roots into the ever-growing Global House Music Community.
