NY Vibez House Set # 8

Following our latest remix release with Discosteps and WAPO Jije on remix duties for DJ Christian B's "Find My Way" EP, we have our next guest mix with Radic The Myth  of Johannesburg, South Africa for your weekend listening.

As we've mentioned recently, we have an upcoming original EP with WAPO Jije as well called "How Deep Can You Go". The EP is due to come out by the end of next month. We're happy to say this one will include 2 beautifully deep tracks by WAPO Jije, along with remixes provided by Radic The Myth and Matt Masters of Freerange Records.

So keep your ears to the floor for that one coming soon! For now you can tune into Radic's set where you can check out the first play of his Vox Redub for WAPO Jije's "How Deep Can You Go".

After a year of curating The Sunday Supplement, I’ve decided to open the doors to some of my favourite DJs and producers, to bring their own flavour by way of The Guest Mix Series.

To get the ball rolling, I’m delighted to welcome @jonmanley host of the long-running hOUSEwORX show on D3EP Radio Network, which celebrated 500 episodes last September.

With his roots planted in 90s UK house and garage, Jon was shaped by the South West underground dance music scene and he ran his own nights like Pulse and RAW, including residencies in Salisbury, Bristol, Exeter and beyond.  Co-owner and A&R of his label Different Attitudes, Jon brings decades of history and good groove to the mix.

🟠 [EN] The name Carnaval Sessions comes from a personal journey inspired by Haruki Murakami’s visit to Copenhagen, where he read the story Carnaval from First Person Singular. This sparked a deeper connection, leading me to explore Schumann’s Carnaval, performed by Rubinstein, as mentioned in the story. Just like how Murakami’s tale weaves together music and introspection, this show delves into the mysteries that music uncovers. Through sound, we transcend the everyday and enter a world where our dreams, thoughts, and fantasies come to life.

🟠 [JA]「Carnaval Sessions（カルナヴァル・セッションズ）」という名前は、村上春樹がコペンハーゲンを訪れた際に読んだ短編小説『一人称単数』に収められている「カーニバル」という物語に触発された、個人的な旅から生まれました。この出会いがきっかけで、物語の中で言及されているルービンシュタインによるシューマンの『カーニバル』を探求することになりました。

村上春樹の物語が音楽と内省を織り交ぜるように、この番組も音楽が明かす神秘に迫ります。音を通して、私たちは日常を超え、夢や思考、そして幻想が生き生きと立ち上がる世界へと導かれるのです。

Denne oplevelse skabte en dybere forbindelse, som førte mig til at udforske Schumanns Carnaval, fremført af Rubinstein, som nævnt i fortællingen.
