For release number 6 we are delighted to welcome our good friend Citizen back to the W&O Street Tracks family and along with him a producer we've had our eye on for sometime, Joe Ashworth.

Kicking off the EP we have 'Situation', a deep tribal house track featuring vocalist Shona Carmen that evokes the spirit of legendary clubs such as NY's Sound Factory whilst still sounding totally fresh and original. Stripped back without any unnecessary frills or flourishes, it's a masterclass in soulful yet simultaneously jacking house music.

If the original had more than a touch of Manhattan to it, then the 'LDN Warehouse Dub' brings things right back home with a sound forged on smoke filled dance floors in the grimier districts of East London and in its hypnotic, metallic bass line a nod to the Bleep sound of a previous generation of warehouse fillers like Unique 3 and LFO.

Finally we finish things off with 'State' a tautly wound piece of underground house music, that gently ratchets up the tension over 4 minutes before the organ comes in and before you can say 'La Da Dee, La Da Day' lifts the track, and we'd put money on any crowds listening to it, up to a whole 'nother level.

With half a dozen releases now in our first year from the likes of Ejeca, Rhythm Operator, Squarehead, Chamboché and Waze & Odyssey, W&O Street Tracks has quickly established itself at the forefront of the UK’s ongoing house music renaissance.
