I've been relistening to all the versions of "takin' control." recently. I've wanted to make a modern version for a while, but since Surprising Developments and its Storyspin variant, Backwards Compatibility, were cancelled, all the tracks tied to them have been floating aimlessly, with no real anchor to hold onto. And because of that, I never really had a reason to make an update to this track.

But now... I do have a reason. The original version, being "takin' control. v1", was made over 3 years ago to represent myself, and throughout all its versions, it has stayed mostly the same, just with basic improvements and a few additions here and there. However, all of those versions were based on the original version, all the way back then. It's been a long time since that era, and I have grown as a musician, as a creator, and as a person. The 4 existing versions of "takin' control." represent who I was THEN, but they don't represent who I am NOW. That's something that I just haven't been able to shake for a long time. So I finally gathered the motivation to get this done, to make a song for the modern me. And against all odds... I succeeded just in time.

Experience the rebirth of this beloved classic of mine, bigger and better than ever before. Many outdated melodies have been removed or replaced with new ones that are much more fitting for the current incarnation of me, while others have been refined for the modern era. Feel the struggle, the mania, the emotion, all over again through a new lens. Catch musical nods to various friends and inspirations of mine, including Avery, Toohi, Prisma, Amythest, Taeskull, and more. Let each new development pierce your soul and fill it with pure wonder for what comes next. The old line is dead. It's time I truly took control.

I really hope you all enjoy this track. I spent weeks making sure everything was perfect, pouring my entire heart and soul into it, and I can truly say that this, at least so far, is my magnum opus.
