Live sets From Notsilly 2025

A challenging transition from 92 Bpm to 182 Bpm featuring tracks from KOAN Sound, Biome, Etherwood and others- a bit obscure ;), I made this one with my flowarts and fire family in mind- something we can flow to! They say you shouldn't really mix genres in a set, but I had a lot of fun merging the worlds of break beats, deep dubstep, trap and drum and bass with a hint of psy. In fact, it was my love of flow arts that got me into this mix of genres and really got me thinking "Damn, this is the kind of stuff I want to spin one day!" (shame I haven't quite figured out how to both spin fire and decks simultaneously. Maybe if I clone myself one day :D). 

I hope you'll enjoy listening to it as much as I loved creating it! Many sleepless nights thinking "how, just how can I transition to this song?", adamant to make my audio vision come to life. I'm still learning the ropes, but if you enjoy this, let me know if I should mix more of this style- I probably will anyway ;).

I dub it ethereal breaks, drum and bass

A journey that reflects the tumultuous consequences of unpunished war seeping in from environment to mind. This set is a personal project that takes the listener through troughs and peaks of anticipatory battles fought and lost, interspersed with moments of crude, overwhelming chaos and sharp deviations of quiet hope, pretend and calm before the predictable storms of propaganda, timeboxed freedom fighting and delusional campaigns of authority sweep away the empty promises of corrupt militant states. This is war. Well- a very abstract version of it- concocted through the lens of a British Lebanese's double life living agent of frantic chaos. A bit like a bunny ying-yanging between light and dark in an ADHD mind- marching to war one moment and sticking her tongue out the next.  

This set spills across genres- from psy-tech hybrids and breaks to full on psytrance and leftfield bass and features a generous mix of oldies with sprinkles of the new from producers I adore and idolise like Monrroe. The second half transitions almost exclusively to drum and bass, featuring several numbers from Renegade Hardware's The Final Chapter and old (but never out of fashion) psy-drum and bass hybrids from an all time favourite Cybernetika. Some liberties taken to mash some tracks up together to create moments of heightened chaos, but also synergy.

Hey everyone. This is Goldhawk here and this is my set from Notsilly Festival on Saturday 12th July. I dug deep with this one and pulled out some true beauties from my library which encapsulates my sound. Out of the 60+ sets I’ve published to SoundCloud this is THE ONE. Light and dark, hard and soft, magical instruments, tribal drum programming, sounds from nature, influences from Indian, African and Middle Eastern cultures, remixes and edits of classics in my style, alongside tracks and acapellas with beautiful lyrics.

It was a scorching hot couple of days and a real privilege to play to my favourite festival crew, some of whom I’ve known for 9 years since first going to Noisily Festival in 2016. 450 of us came together in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire on the River Soar, off the back of Noisily Festival being cancelled by Live Nation.

It was a real triumph, especially as it was all organised in 2 months and completely sold out. The organisers even had to secure additional fields so we could up the capacity and number of stages. Hats off to Vish, Lawrence, Adam and all the amazing people that helped make this happen. You are all legends in my eyes. The first ever Notsilly Festival will be etched into my brain forever and I can’t wait to return next year.

Live from Notsilly Fest's Party Tunnel Saturday July 12th 01:30 - 03:30 am. It suffices to say, the greatest challenge of all was following an incredible hard hitting set from Gavin @nd3ce3nt who left me and everyone in the tunnel with jelly thighs, but with just enough fuel to deliver a dark (and hopeful) two hour sonic journey ranging from 92 - 180 BPM. This set is near and dear to me as it draws inspiration from my own life story, channeling the emotional, yet hopeful, rollercoaster I've been on over the last year or so. Each track carefully selected, down to title names and featured lyrics, intended to craft a story. There is always light at the end of the tunnel and Notsilly's Party Tunnel certainly delivered!
