Almost exactly a year ago we presented you the first edition of a compilation that should unite almost every Drum and Bass subgenre on one sampler. The integrative idea is so appealing that we now follow up with volume 2 and want to present a selection of tracks with different styles again. The protagonists represented here also result in a colorful potpourri of national, transregional and international artists, some of whom have already made a name for themselves on other labels in the meantime. And so we are pleased that some of the producers are represented twice here, such as Scurrow, who provides the framework for the release with his two very different works. His remix for Bassface Sascha’s “Inside The Rabbit Hole (feat. Trinity)” sets the pyramid on fire right at the start of the compilation. Escape impossible! “There Is No Wifi In The Jungle” marks the end: a breaky jungle slammer for heads that want it percussive and can stand a lot of bass as well. In between, of course, there are also techy tracks, e.g. by Clusta, who can add a VIP crown to his mighty “Cave Of Evil”. With Gisix we have a true debutant who sets a real exclamation mark with his expansive “Poppy” including sawtooth synth! Another slammer comes from new signing Kontrakt from Finland. “Network” is a hectic number, metaphorically speaking somewhere between tangled cables and stressed office colleagues. Low Performance also made his debut for us and is here with the grinding “Call Of Cthulhu” that would make every tunnel drill green with envy. The deeper pieces come once again from the favorite Italian Petarda, with Elektronik VIP soaring up to an uplifting sound aesthetic and Petarda actually only initiates us into one of his another dark sound secrets with “Nostalgy”. Hailing from the Czech Republic, Furious Freaks is a Prague based Drum & Bass project that started its journey in 2012. Since then, its members Bonduel, Hayppa, Avenues and Just Flyp have been making their mark on the scene by steady releases on BNCexpress, Space Pirate Recordings, Empire Recordings, Sinful Maze, Trust Audio and others. You’ll often find them on the club and festival circuit, including performances at the legendary Let It Roll festival.
 
In 2014, they joined the Bass Drop project with whom they organised regular events in one of the most famous clubs in Prague. Soon after they released their first EP ever Born In Acid as a self-release. Their first label releases came in autumn 2016 on BNCexpress. With the intention to unite the Czech & Slovak music scene, they released the Freaks & Friends LP in summer 2018 which was later remixed by other Czech and Slovak producers such as A-Cray or Ripple. Later on, they added another release ‘Knife’ on Modular Carnage Recordings.
 
In 2019, Furious Freaks released their first music video ‘Na Stage’ together with Magenta and MC Brejchus which intelligently blended rap and drum & bass. The next releases included collaborations with Ripple for tracks such as ‘Space Moth’ (Space Pirate Recordings), followed by tunes ‘Time’ and ‘Spirit’ as part of the Bassline Resurrect EP. They also contributed to the rising Czech label Sinful Maze with their tunes ‘Tremble’ and ‘Goblin’. Developing their sound further, they explore new techniques and ways to collaborate with fellow artists, notably with various vocalists whom they consider to be an inherent part of Drum & Bass. This is the rationale behind the collaborations ‘Blind Lines’ ft. MC Shot (BNCexpress), ‘Systems’ ft. Lifesize MC (Empire Recordings) or ‘Own Way’ ft. Anna Vaverka (Hoofbeats Music). The year 2022 marked their premiere on the UK labels with their tune ‘Tribe’ on Trust Audio. You can find upcoming releases on Nemesis Recordings and Lockdown Recordings.
 
They strive to provide their audience with dynamic and original tunes without a rigid categorization into subgenres. They ignore established standards and combine various elements to bring an original touch to their music. The common denominator of Furious Freaks’ tunes is simply Drum & Bass!
