Let's now get started with our brand new 4 tracker EP series on the Mandrill by welcoming our head honcho - label boss: Fernando Mendoza A.K.A. The Funk District bringing us the perfect blends for the summer, get ready !!! For our first delight 'Freaky Stuff' Fernando drops a tropical funky conga - driven cut with fresh guitars, dominant slaps on the bass section and harmonic vocal chops as a starter. Right next to it comes 'Do It Right' dominated by a perpetual bassline filled with Afro vocals and trumpet riffs making it an intense cut with lots of energy. On the other side 'Soul Vibration' arrives with a tropical disco vibe with his rich rhythm section filled with congas, outstanding trumpet solos and catchy vocals to sing along. To finish the release 'Tin Lin Lon' samples a classic African tune from Benin with a funky - house touch making it an exceptional gem to make your body move anytime & everywhere ... you cannot miss it !!

Since a young age, Montenegro-based Mitiko has shown a great passion for music. 10 years ago his productions began to surface, many tracks in the vein of nu-disco and deep house found on such labels as Fruity Flavor and Cherry Cola Records - and of course his very own Disco Fruit. Following up his previous long player from last month entitled 'Summer' he's already back into the groove with 'My Sugar', featuring a fine collection of sweltering edits. From the roaring vocals on the uplifting "Can't Wait No Longer", the neon-lit '80s pop vibe of "Hold Me", the slo-mo boogie down feels of the title track and last but not least - an oldie but a goodie to be heard on "Straight To Your Arms".

There's much to admire on this first full outing from newcomer Ferdinand Debeaufort, whose only previous outing was a sole track on Slightly Transformed's recent Summer Numbers 2020 compilation. By and large, the re-edits are bouncy and floor-focused, with the lavishly named Debeaufort adding a bit more percussive pressure to a variety of disco-centric cuts. He starts in confident mood with a brilliantly chopped-up and rearranged version of an old Fantastic Aleems cut ('Funny Feeling'), before dancing his way through a rubbery disco-boogie number (the synth-sporting 'Make Love'). Elsewhere, 'Casou' is a killer version of a mid-80s French synth-boogie number, 'Can't Do It Alone' is a horn-sporting disco celebration built around short, subtly changing loops, and 'Show Me How' is a low-slung treat.
