#OnlyTheDopest - REVENGE OF THE GHOST SHARKS

Royal Blood is a fast hardcore harsh noise electronic album made for the streets. It's Influenced by my favourites such as Atari Teenage Riot, Sonar, Machine Girl and Death Grips but also coming from a history of listening to Deathcore, Crust and Screamo. I wanted to make sure rhythm, speed and texture came first before any other element on the record and because of it 'Royal Blood' stands strong as my most intense work.

For background: 2018 debut Gold Plates album Royal Blood' was not my best work by a long shot but was a milestone in my career releasing records. By that point I had already spent 10 years producing Hip Hop, Trap, Dubstep, Drum&bass and Seapunk but I was most well known for producing House and Ambient lounge music.

Following a hectic time involving substance abuse and a short stint in prison, all the misplaced angst I had built up found its way onto the record and I became a noise artist overnight. Within a handful of days 6 tracks were quickly recorded using my laptop microphone and released to almost no fanfare or promotion as I had never thought anyone would enjoy my two minute experiments.

Since then, my work as Gold Plates with Royal Blood reinvented and re-established my small corner in the electronic music scene as well as showcased my ability to push further into much different sounds. I was being booked for shows as Gold Plates and asked to spin as well as watched the tracks land in playlists and shows by people I never thought would f*** with them. It was celebrated by those I looked up to at a time when I thought my work would never get a second playthrough and I don't think that's bad for the fastest record I ever made.
