Future Engineers are proud to announce the launch of Alpha Sequence — a new series on Transference dedicated to showcasing forward-thinking drum & bass created by students and mentees from our producer community.

The series provides a platform for emerging artists to experiment, evolve their sound, and release music shaped by collaboration, guidance, and creative exploration — all with the shared goal of pushing drum & bass into fresh territory.

Up and coming producer Newtype kicks off the Alpha Sequence series with two 2 fresh cuts in the form of ‘Remnant’ and ‘Himiko’. Both tracks offer a slice of futuristic, atmospheric drum and bass, catering for the mind and also the dancefloor.

Future Engineers have been producing drum & bass since 1996, with releases on labels such as LTJ Bukem’s Good Looking Records, Blame’s 720 Degrees, Renegade, Partisan, and Vibez.

Transference was launched by Lee in 2010, kicking off with the Future Engineers ‘Ellipse’ EP. The label was established for Lee’s solo material as Future Engineers, but evolved to include various other projects with the likes of Electrosoul System, Sunchase, Operon, Cutworks, Radicall, Dauntless and Fuj.
